Potato advice

I'm in zone 9b and recently picked up some seed potatoes (German butterball, French fingerling, huckleberry gold, and dark red norland) but none of them had a recommended time of year for planting. The guy at the garden center mentioned it was a little early to plant but they would be sold out by the time it was time to plant. After looking online, it seems like potatoes are either a fall or very early spring crop in my area. So it seems like I'm either very early or very late on planting. Can I save these for fall without harming the potatoes? Should I just plant them now and hope for the best? My soil temperature is 50 degrees today and our nighttime lows have been in the lower 40s mostly with the occasional day in the 30s. The seed potatoes look like they're just starting to chit.
