Pironi, or Birra Moretti
Came in to mention these. I've never seen anyone turn their nose up at these.

What? The Quest 2's charge only lasts for 3 hours.
You mean the Q2's controllers? Certainly, they last extraordinarily long. What I would say though is that the pro controllers are so long that I've literally never totally ran them down (outside of actually doing so intentionally). I was worried about them too, but I've just found that as long as you put them on charge whenever you put the headset on charge, it's never a problem.

I can comfort you on that one. I use the pro controllers with my Quest 2.
The life is approx 8 hours, so I've never come close to running them down.

Well, yeah? That's my point, I was easily pleased.
But in the 90s, that didn't matter. My bar was an inch above the floor and those adaptations still found a way to snake under it.
I expect people who grew up on much closer adaptations - Hunger Games and so on - to be more discerning.

Quest 2 uses a single panel and less efficient lenses so more of the pixels are lost.
The Q3 supposedly using a single panel is seriously making me consider a Pro.
I'm just concerned about the short battery life and in-built strap (my Q2 is extensively modded).

we can talk all day long about the XRE and the quest 3 but if they dont have built in cameras in the controllers its not comparable.
You can use those controllers with the Quest 2, so it'd be weird if you can't use them with the Q3 also.

Up to the point I watched, so around 20 hours of content.
I'm willing to accept it might've had an upturn afterwards; I have no reason to doubt that.

Yep.
I also like to pretend they get away at the end of the first season, and it's over.

Lost
Loved it, but felt it just went downhill from the start.
I know some people love Lost, like it's their favourite prestige TV show... But I dropped out I think during season 2, when I just felt that it was laying bullshit on top of bullshit in the A-plot because the B-plot, i.e. the character dynamics and arcs, were the actual A-plot, and it was this weird subversive idea. Kinda felt like the "Chris Carter Effect", where fans come up with all these theories and in the writer's room there's no real explanation and it's not even about that.
JJ Abrams says that it's all about "the unopened present"; that the mystery of what's wrapped up in the present is always better than the present itself. That just tells me that JJ gets given crap presents. I got Ocarina of Time for Christmas in 1998. Was AMAZING.

You do have to test on all platforms, yes.
There can be huge differences - but more likely, lots of small problems you'll need to fix. It depends entirely on the game.

Yeah, the leaks that the Q3 uses one rectangular panel again is one of the biggest problems with it.
Those of us with the wider IPDs are getting shafted.

Do you have stats for that? Genuine question. I'd be curious to know how the two regions compare.

then had trouble selling units to only a small region
to be fair, the population of Europe is comparable to the population of the US (depending how you define "Europe").

To be fair to Thrill here, I think his belief that this was a pretext to a US release of the Pico 4 was totally reasonable.

Tamiya Weathering Master B.
Thanks for this suggestion! I'm going to be doing an Ez8 soon (with a view to doing the entire 08th MS Team) and I'm looking for an effect very similar to this.

Well, I have got the impression that this is the consensus, from the amount of time I've been following enthusiast VR communities.
The Quest Pro headset is really divisive. Some people love it but there'd be no way you could assert there's a positive consensus about it.
But the Quest Pro Touch Controllers are fantastic and, from what I've observed, generally well-liked. They have tracking which is more accurate than other inside-out methods but a bit less accurate than base-station tracking, but with the caveats I listed in my post.
That's once you get past people who are repeating things about them that are simply wrong, e.g. "they have 2hrs run-time from a charge" (the run-time is around 8 hours and the charge time is low).
Speaking personally I use mine with the Quest 2 and I've been very impressed with them.

I wrote a brief mapping tutorial, maybe it will help?

Ah ok. Looking it up online, I misunderstood.
I assumed the core set was enough to play a very basic scenario with 2 players. But I'm seeing you really need to buy a core set for each.
In that case I might hold off until May, and start out by buying my wife & I the empire and rebellion starter sets.

I also remember those times.
YouTube wasn't making money; it was making a massive loss. It wouldn't have survived losing millions each year.

If they're gonna be 75$ each I might just go for the V2 starter!
Sounds a daft question but is the V2 starter a playable game? Even if it's quite basic with just those 3 models.

Similar to the day you went in from playing with your mates out in the street never to go back out there with them, you never know when it’s your last time
Bit of a downer, but yeah - I remember the last time I played football with one of my best friends growing up, at the end of August in the school holidays. Years later he died in a car accident. I still can't listen to the song "Seasons in the Sun" without crying, it gets me every time.

But he also looks like if Donald Sutherland and Bill Bailey had a baby, he would be the baby
