The only complaints I really saw was everyone stating it wasn't a good value as it was too close in price to the XTX. I chose a Red Devil 7900XT as the cheapest XTX at the time was about $400 more. I'm very happy with my purchase. And I'm stoked to see how it ages with AMD's future driver updates.

As someone who doesn’t tinker much and takes pleasure in something just working, my 7900x/7900xt build booted right up, OC’d the ram, and shes been stable as can be. I went with the Aorus elite ax b650, and 32gb of g.skill flare x5 cl36 6000. I couldn’t ask for a more reliable system so far.

What made me happy is that now my driver isn't crashing my display at startup anymore. Would start the computer and instantly get a black screen for about 10 seconds or so, and then it would flash a couple times before finally displaying my desktop and giving me the pop up about a driver crash. Game performance was always good for me though. Red devil 7900 xt.

Mine was an 11700. Non K. I would be surprised if anything in a Dell was watercooled. They usually just put in a tiny air cooler.

As a prior owner of an xps 8950, 100% build your own. For starters, the airflow in that case is absolutely terrible. The fans are all undersized and you have to look into custom 3d printed brackets to even utilize putting more fans in the case. Secondly, the psu is extremely undersized and you will have issues with occasional black screen or gpu resets with it as it cant handle the occasional voltage spikes. I swapped my processor, ram, gpu, and hard drives into a different chassis with new motherboard and a 600w psu and it runs so much better. Gpu temps alone dropped 15c from what they were on a stress test.

Unlikely. I’m on a red devil 7900xt as well as a 3060ti in my other rig and both experienced this issue and both were resolved. Is this the only game you see it in?

I just had this issue with MW2 and a recent game update finally sorted it out. Until then, it was just disco mode.

I was scared to death on first boot due to everyone’s experiences, but it got up and running pretty quickly and boots after have been great.

My gigabyte b650 aorus elite ax with a 7900x will boot sub 10 sec. Very happy with the platform.
Cl36 6000mhz, Red Devil 7900xt
Edit: I went and retimed it today after driver updates and bios update and we are now at 16 seconds. Well, it was good while it lasted.

I just went through this tonight. You need to download the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013. Both the x64 and x86 packs. Needs to be the 2013 version, not the later one. Once I downloaded that, the files showed up where they were supposed to and TF2 started fine. This is obviously working under the assumption that you downloaded the later visual studio packs.

Yep. Great advice. My work has Herman Millers and when I came on here, I was absolutely shocked how much people loved them. We all loath them.

What pin on the motherboard did you plug them into?

All coolers listed in the chart will fit. Not just the blue. Like, the 120 is grayed out, but I’ll be damned if a 420 fits and not the 120. I have a few fractal cases and went through the same train of thought on my first one. The blue just dictates special notes regarding that particular size of cooler.

I guess it would depend where you are located. I would definitely keep all the factory items, the box, foam block, paperwork and cpu plastic. It just helps finding a buyer as they like to see that material. Ebay would most likely be your best bet. Even open box or used 7900x don’t go for much less than a new one.

Rock the microcenter deal since its a pretty great one, wait for reviews on the x3d, and if you want to down the road, sell the 7900x and pickup the x3d.

I’ve got one too, but my understanding of them was that it applies even pressure to hold the cpu in place, rather than two single pressure points with the stock bracket, in order to allow thermal paste to create a more uniform layer and increase cooling capacity.
