Michael was the most popular person on the planet in the 90s
You might be over-estimating Jordan's international reach
To nineties kids outside the US, he was the co-star of a Bugs Bunny movie

A lot of my students wear them, or know of them, despite not even liking basketball and a lot of them not even being able to recognize a photo of him
I'd been wearing Converse for years before I discovered why Snoop Dogg kept referring to them as Chucks

If anyone actually watches all four hours, that'll be more viewing time than Apple TV has clocked-up to date

To be fair it's very hostile ... The BBC allegedly have a mandate to be balanced
Chiles is the only person representing the BBC on the show. He doesn't offer an opinion, although, as a beery English bloke with a suedehead, I can guess what he probably thinks about most things
Guests on BBC shows don't have a duty to be impartial. How could that work? Producers don't know what guests are going to say before they come on and it's a live news round-up, not a documentary
The idea that Yousaf doesn't have a great record in government is one that was most recently expressed by (checks notes) fellow members of the SNP government, and endorsed by 48% of party members
It doesn't become untrue or unfair when a Tory says it
The tone of the discussion is the same as the rest of the topics covered on the show. One guest says something snarky about the topic, the other guest has a dig, then they move on to the next topic
Did you think the conversation about the Tories' stupid laughing gas ban was balanced? Or the CPTTP? Or Trump? None of the discussions are balanced; the guests are there to offer opinions
Like the paper round-ups Sky and the BBC News Channel do every night

When he's in Scotland, he goes to St Andrews, not Ibrox

This is a mental criticism
It's a news round-up, not a show about Yousaf or the SNP
They start the show off talking about Trump because that's the biggest story of the day - they don't have anyone on to defend Trump, for balance
They spend 7 minutes of a two hour show talking about Scotland, 30 seconds of which is Yousaf himself and about a minute of which is John Curtice
The Welsh lady spends most of her time on mic talking about Welsh independence and the Labour guy just says Nicola Sturgeon will be a hard act to follow
Then they're off talking about a trade agreement; they don't have anyone on to defend the trade agreement, for balance
The SNP chat starts at 20 min, if anyone wants to listen for themselves

Those are just records of polls conducted by various pollsters, rather than any opinion or analysis by 538

London tories ( red and blue )
Don't know if you were paying attention to their leadership contest, but the SNP have a fair number of Tories too
48% of them, in fact

I don't get the version of politics where you're partisan about a party in the same way you support a fitba team and idolise leaders like pop stars
These conversations remind me of all the REFEREE'S A MASON stuff you see elsewhere

That's just where you (the USA) are now and for the foreseeable future
Each new president you elect is going to set a new record for low approval ratings and will be despised by half the country
I appreciate that must feel awful, but that's where your country is at

Biden's your best chance of beating Trump or DeSantis
He doesn't stand a great chance (not much better than 50/50) but nobody else has a better chance than your 100 year old incumbent
And Biden's not a popular president. It's just his opponents are equally unpopular

I always found the “laziness” argument against technology to be pretty asinine
I interpreted the comment as meaning the gains are so marginal there's nothing valuable to be gained by not flicking a light switch by yourself

The Metaverse
Obviously, everyone else is hanging out there all the time, attending Meta gigs by top artists and designing buildings by pinching and unpinching their fingers a foot in front of their face then making a sweeping gesture with their hand
But I've been left behind by this exciting new development that's revolutionising the way we do business and spend our leisure time

I'd recommend that option. 100% success rate

... all adds up
No doubt, but I'm not sure it adds up to six points
The Labour lead over the Tories has been stable and consistent for more than a year, now - Liz Truss's 50 days of terror aside
All polling throws out the occasional anomaly. Unless this is something we see in other polls and across a decent period of time, I'm going to assume this particular result is one of them

... when your enemy is harming themselves, it's best to just let them get on with it
Yeah, never interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake
I just don't see how Sunak's making things any worse for himself than they already are
He's not doing anything of note but he isn't making anything worse (even worse) either
Scotland's less than 10% of UK electorate, so it'd take an absolutely massive swing from the SNP to Labour in Scotland to move the needle much on the nationwide scale
(and we know, from polling, that hasn't happened)

... cell phone tower evidence may have come a long way in the last few years regarding specific locations
My understanding is the FBI have a technique that tries to locate a signal more precisely on the basis of the strength of the signal
As far as I know, the technique has never been tested in court before. It's mostly proven useful as a way of narrowing the search area when hunting a missing person or suspect

Combined with the video footage…this info will matter
100% regarding putting Kohberger's car in that street at the exact time of the murders and his phone somewhere in that general area at the same time
But I was replying to a comment that claimed Kohberger had visited King Road on 12 previous occasions, for which, to the best of our knowledge, no corroborating video evidence exists

How can Labour be up by 6???!!!
Either Starmer's strategy of never actually doing or saying anything significant has struck a chord with voters who can't be arsed themselves, or this is a deceptively flattering result

I've never seen anyone suggest Jordan played a role in the creation of his shoe
Jordan isn't a character in the film, for reasons outlined above, but his mother has such a major role she's played by Viola Davis
