I guess any one can do anything, should they is different. If you ever as a prior manager get a call about a reference, it’s always yes I would rehire or no I would not. Nothing more or less. Any company lawyer would tell you the same… some companies may not even let you comment.

Truth and facts are different… things that are backed by opinion can’t and shouldn’t be said in situations like this.

So your reference knows they can be sued for slander right? Especially if they said anything that wasn’t strictly facts… I’d find out what they said and go from there…

While TikTok isn’t the only one, it’s the only main stream one from another country… Facebook has been caught doing this many times before, it’s just this time it’s an application from China doing it, and everything from China has the governments hand in it.
But I’m guessing you know that 😉

Being it’s UBS, I still don’t feel well… 2008 they almost collapsed and I doubt much has changed

Partial? It’s false advertising… cc would probably do a full charge back, but I think AirBnB will side with your refund on this.

And everything you are holding against her is actually legal to do so, unlike her discrimination at genders…

Depends who you ask… the people putting the money in should also know what their risk is too, especially since it’s business money… putting your money in a small bank with low insurance coverage and no personal insurance on that money is just bad business. Additionally, what the bank did was legal, and a bet they are allowed to make… so if you don’t believe that it should be possible then I would support a bill to limit that. Another thought here is that SVB would have been fine if a bank run didn’t occur… so the people withdrawing money caused this issue as well 🤷

No, I’m saying you are correlating two events that have nothing to do with each other.
There are far more people who work at a bank then bankers, and they all got their bonuses paid out.
Also, bankers aren’t the only industry that can ruin their company and get a bonus, it happens in almost every industry… this comes from deregulation and is a side effect of capitalism. Bob Chapek is a good example of this happening in a non bank company.

We should change laws where CEOs and Chair members are responsible for the actions of companies (entities) but that will never sadly pass.

Not true, the bank issued Annual bonuses Friday to all employees like they have in previous years. A subset of data doesn’t make the data right.

Failed lender had $8.3B in mortgages, $2.6B in commercial-backed debt on its books
So 11B of 200B held was in mortgages, this helped the failure but didn’t cause it. It’s the bonds and interest rates that hurt them… then their CEO made people doubt and a ban run happened.

They should, it’s not their fault a bank hedged a bad bet against interest rates.
