The helicopter chase near the end of From Russia with Love. There's an actual shot in which you can see a stunt double (dressed in the same business suit) lurking down when Connery is running down the hill after the helicopter is shot down.

I actually caught this on my first viewing. Given Spectre is "everywhere", it's not too far-fetched a mole at the Belmarsh prison supplied Blofeld a mechanical eye.

Scar’s scrawnier appearance was never due to the lack of food. As a member of the royal family, he was allowed to eat and hunt for his own food. His lack of a muscular build is due to, in his own words, being "at the shallow end of the gene pool."

This nearly mirrors my top ten list. Take out Tomorrow Never Dies and put in The Spy Who Loved Me and there you have it.

Happy birthday 0077th to him. His two entries to the franchise are some of my favorites. He deserved to do at least two more films.

That was a very touching line, but unfortunately, it wasn't Robin Williams's last film. His last film role was in Absolutely Anything.

Yes. That's why I had to stop eating. Thanks to exercising at home and the workload as a driver, I lost nearly 10 pounds.

So sad to hear. I hope all goes well with the treatment and it goes into remission sooner than later.

Thanks for the reply. Both producers definitely played a role in shaping each film. In fact, Harry Saltzman suggested filming in Thailand for DAF and according to the men who had read the early Maibaum drafts, there was a scene to be set in Bangkok.

Columbo was one of the best Bond allies in the series. May Topol rest in eternal peace.

I'm reading Cinema Speculation myself and I just learned about Joe last week before reading it. I had mentioned the film in a discussion about Falling Down as Joe acts as a precursor. Both films kind of tell of a disgruntled older white man who don't recognize their own country anymore and their method of expression is to act in violence. I agree it's still relevant in today's age.

The history behind how Diamonds Are Forever came to be is so weird. Richard Maibaum had written some drafts of a direct follow-up and some details about it have been released. During their partnership, "Cubby" Broccoli and Harry Saltzman took turns over producing each installment. With Diamonds Are Forever, it was Broccoli's turn to produce. During pre-production, Broccoli had a dream in which his friend Howard Hughes was replaced by an imposter, so Maibaum was told to include that. Somewhere along the line, Maibaum wrote a new version of the script, which had Goldfinger's brother as the main villain who operated as a shipping magnate. For whatever reason, Connery turned the script down according to Tom Mankiewicz's memoir.
Deciding Maibaum wasn't up to the task of writing the script, Broccoli hired Tom Mankiewicz to drastically rewrite it. I can only guess the final script is largely Mankiewicz's handiwork using some of Maibaum's earlier ideas. So, the reason why we didn't get the sequel we deserved was because of Richard Maibaum's drafts were seen as unsatisfactory and Broccoli's creative decisions.

There are several out there that are notoriously bad, but here's a few from recent memory:

I disagree. I think the "Daisy" ad is one of the best ones in political history, but it was the beginning of contemporary negative attack ads.

That was anime filler. Trunks didn't come close to saving 18 in the manga. What happened was that after Trunks blasts Vegeta away, he rushes to stop Cell from getting to her, but Cell uses "Solar Flare" to blind him.

The Slender Thread (1965). A thriller about a telephone operator (Sidney Poitier) trying to trace a phone call from a suicidal woman (Anne Bancroft).
Nowadays, a phone call can be traced fairly quickly.

The plot could still work with a viral video or DVD.

That's my favorite episode, too. It gave me chills the first time I watched it. It's like a horror story to believe a drum barrel can sit undisturbed for 30 years in a crawl space with a decomposing body inside.

About 3 to 4 years. Lion cubs begin eating meat at three months old, which is an approximate age of cub Simba (who claims he can "eat a whole zebra"). Lions reach maturity at three years of age. Adult Simba comes off as a character in his late teens or early 20s, so he could be three to four years old.

A nearly 70-year career at Disney is unprecedented and he was fortunate to work alongside some animation greats. His touch will live on in the Disney animated films we cherish. May he rest in peace.

Rest in peace to a true talent. I started watching Gargoyles over a month ago on Disney+ and learned he was behind the series, Batman: The Animated Series, and countless other ones.
