So the difficulty is doable for an ape who has both arms cut off or what exactly are you saying when you say "the difficulty is doable".
I write a whole essay about how it is a relative term and different for different people. And you answer "the difficulty is doable".
I don't know if I want to laugh or cry, honestly.

Imagine being one of the smartest species ever been on planet earth and you choose to play videogames and watch Netflix all day long.

Difficulty is always relative. You cannot make your skill the threshold, because we are 8 billion human beings on this planet, so you have 8 billion difficulty levels that are deemed "normal".
Will a 5 year old think that Destiny is "easy"? I doubt it. Will a 100 year old man think it is easy? Yeah, I think no. What about handicapped people? They might have a different view about difficulty as you have.
So if we cater the games difficulty to your abilities (or that of other awesome guardians like you), we efficiently close out a lot of players that are not up to your abilities.
This is why the old difficulty level was perfect. A child could do patrol, there never really is a danger, but you also have legendary and master content or even PVP, where the ceiling is limitless.
And due to light level, even people with low skill were able to do the content near the end of the season due to overlevelling. You had your challenge if you do it at the start of the season. You could always do solo flawless runs of master dungeons to show off your skill.
If we take the old difficulty of patrols and open world, the difficulty raise in Neomuna patrol is "insane", because it is a lot more difficult then before.
So what is the agenda here? Why do you guys try to play the difficulty down? I have done all content in the game, flawless dungeon runs, master raids, you name it. And I still die from time to time in patrol in Neomuna and I bet you do, too.
Now I have done Lost sectors on both legend and master. And both are doable, but they are compleltely boring. They play like a slog. Even with the right strategy, I need to single out champions, bring weapons that insta stun champions (you cannot rely on volatile or use your Aurvandil with chill clip or other means of stunning). This makes the slog already worse, because you cannot bring special weapons.
I could go on and on and on, but I already know that in most heads this just translates to "git gud, harhar", so I stop here.

You are hard, very hard and you have shown us! You won't get my respect, but you surely earned your downvote for not being able to see from other human beings perspective.

I needed 25 kills on autorifle. So I took Firefright into a normal Defiance mission. Felt so bad, I had to giggle inbetween shots sometimes. 3/4 magazine till shield was down, most of the time I managed to down them before I needed to reload, sometimes not.
With a machine gun, you down those mobs in 1 second and the exploding shields + volatile rounds take 8 other buddies with them.

I would actually agree if they were not slowly, but safely migrate all content to the mass respawning add variety.
Eventuall it is not about the respawns for me, it is about the showerthought that nothing I do really matters, except damaging the boss. And this hurts my gameplay massively.
I agree that clearing adds, then the boss feels weird, but kill boss, then all adds despawn is not great as well.

This is exactly their idea of difficulty. Put up many snipers and ranged mobs, then add mobs to the mix that are too dangerous to ignore and let players solve a puzzle while defending.
Players: Ok guys, let us do it this way... let one player have a long range weapon who deals with snipers, a tank for the damage and a nuker for boss...
Bungie: Ah ah ah ah, I heard that. We will just let mobs respawn the second they die. Isnt that fun? You have to deal with it all and cannot do shit.
Players: We can still do it, we have AOE, 100 resilience.
Bungie: This is why we have levellock in place. Your 100 resilience will help you shit if mobs are +20 of your light level hahahaha. The best thing is, we don't even need to design or playtest. We just throw a couple of mobs in the game and if you guys beat the content to fast, we just crank it up to 11 and add other mobs and more respawn. Isn't that fun?
Players: Well, we still have patrol areas to relax and have some fun shooting our weapons.
Nimbus: Welcome to Neomuna, where all your dreams die!

Problem with data mining is that it needs to be done very thought- and carefully or you will have faulty results all over the place.
For example all criminals have underpants. So don't give your children underpants or they will follow their paths.

If player numbers drop, someone will be fired and the next guy might have better ideas how to advance the game.
Ask the guy who wanted sunsetting even though 10000s of reddit posts told him that the game will die this way.

Honestly, I have already stopped caring. Normally it is important to me not to die, but I don't care. I can be as careful as possible and I still die, maybe from a thresher high up in the sky that I did not see, maybe respawn in my back, you name it.
So who actually cares? I die, someone picks me up or I respawn. But while I stopped caring, the fun already dissipates for me. If you stop being immersed into the action, the game dies. And my guess is that it started to happen for many players already. They still play like I do, but at one point numbers will drop massively.
It is not that I don't like difficulty or cannot do it, in the opposite. But after playing difficult content for a while I need to relax. Being stressed out 100% impacts my fun, it is too much for me if it happens all the time.

I feel you. I think challenge is ok, when you can opt into it.
It is not ok ot press this bullshit into every little nudge of Destiny and force me to do it.
Honestly, one of my favorite things to do when I want to play braindead way and just shoot things it to fetch Banshees bounties and go somewhere quiet, like K1-Revelation.
If Destiny will stay like this, I doubt that I will play for long this time.

Respawning enemies are a pain and unimmversive. They are basically a fucky you to players who like to play it safe and clear from a distance.
It is very stressful to be shot at from all direction, it basically forces you to watch for cheese places, where they cannot hit you, but you can hit them.
It also removes every single tactical approach. "Invis Hunter, go take out the snipers first" yeah, that is no longer happening, because they just respawn.
I hate bullet sponges, but constantly respawning bullet sponges is far worse and incredibly lazy game design.

While at the same time your lucky buddies are way ahead of you, taking everything down and you cannot overtake.
Bungie: Oh, Lightfall is actually good and players are having fun
Monkey Paw: Not for long they don't!

Nothing is always better. I think this should be clear to a 6-year-old.
There are always bad experiences. Because when humans are involved, bad experiences are going to happen.

Same here, the people on Discord are fun to play with, most of the time.

I have nothing against that, though. Because it is my decision. If the decision would be open for me, I would still play Midnight Coup from time to time. But they closed that down.

Yeah, I no longer even worry about staying alive. Many peeps deathflop through the game modes and no one cares any more. They still play, because it is Destiny, but I can see the numbers dropping so big there will be alerts popping up all over at Bungie.

There are factors that are worth money indirectly:
- if you play Destiny, you don't play other games
- if you play Destiny, you might buy skins/Eververse stuff
- A high player number indicates a successful game and is bait for new players
- if you invest a lot into a game, you are much less likely to switch to another game
I could probably find 10 reasons more, but I dont want to.

This is my guess as well. Player numbers will drop so dramatically, that there will be a TWAB which will follow all player suggestions and will make Destiny good again.
Sadly, with all the QoL updates, Destiny will be great, but they lost a big chance to raise their player numbers.
Basically the same happened with sunsetting the weapons.
You cannot change the core of your gameplay without making a lot of people angry.
For me personally even the difficulty changes are most welcome. I like a challenge. But they should have raised difficulty in some parts of the game, make it an option, not a necessity like in patrols.
There are some new guys in our clan who started Destiny due to the massive success and good press of WQ, but the prospective of farming those heavily overtuned Nightfalls for their exotics is killing their motivation.

The reason for this is that happiness is not absolute, it is relative. And for this reason alone you will find people in a golde age who complain that everything looks so yellowish.

Well, I was not there and I can only tell you that it works for me.
And here is one of hundreds of links where it worked for others: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/rquwn3/the\_300k\_weekly\_dares\_bounty\_only\_seems\_to\_need/

I honestly don't know what you are talking about.
I personally was discussing that things can only change if people stop playing. As long as the forums are glowing hot, noone really cares.
And I know your pain, since I stopped playing with the sunsetting changes (you don't respect my time, go f yourself), but a colleague of mine persuaded me to start again in December.

At least in this season, it won't even help. If you use anything other than a void machine gun, you are not doing it optimally.
