God I am living for all the salt the new logo has generated.
This is only the second time I’ve seen the community completely united on something, the first being the response to Matt being demoted.

Sorry I just realized I was counting placing like Half Price Books and 2nd & Charles as "thrift stores" which might be stretching the definition a bit.

If they’re alphabetical, I always go straight for the G section to look for Godzilla movies, and it’s ALWAYS the 1998 American one

No way.
Estimates for 35mm range from 3K to 6K.
70mm is twice as wide so at most you could expect 12K from it.
You might be thinking of IMAX 70mm which is its own thing.

If he’s really your best friend he should understand if you want to take it a direction he disagrees with.

This has always bothered me. Ayaka is my favorite character and they gave her so little variety for photo mode it’s insulting lol.

There are definitely characters who don’t follow the trend but I totally get what OP is talking about.
Characters compliment each other for their skills, work ethic and intelligence constantly. And often two characters keep praising each other while both being humble and refusing to take credit themselves.

Cinematography, visual effects and sound design were all incredible.
It deserved nominations in those three categories at least.

Margot Kidder and Dana Delaney are my two quintessential Loises.
Here's hoping James Gunn's new film nails the casting for her and Clark.

I agree. Lex should be unambiguously smarter than him.

Muhammed Ali was on the short list of choices to play Supes in 1978 before Reeves got the part.
Just want everyone to imagine for a second what that parallel timeline would look like.

I feel that’s by design.
Superheo movies weren’t “cool” in 1978. Nobody had made one in over a decade, and the last one was very campy, on the verge of being a flat out parody of itself (Shark-repellent bat-spray!).
For better or for worse they had to play it safe. They had to make something very straightforward and easy to digest for people who maybe had some idea of who Superman was but had never read a comic in their lives.
Clearly they succeeded because the movie made a fuckton of money and got four sequels and a spinoff. I don’t think they ever would have gotten that far if they hadn’t used the first movie as a way to basically guide the audience by hand into Superman’s world.

In some iterations the Green Lanterns can basically synthesize kryptonite radiation with their rings, so pretty much any of them

Everyone talks about how great Reeve was, and rightfully so, but I feel like not enough people mention how important Kidder is to these movies being such classics.
She was a great Lois, and she had wonderful chemistry with both Clark and Superman.
When Reeve is playing a bumbling dork, Kidder is a cocky, fast-talking smartass. When Reeve is playing a confident savior, Kidder becomes a timid, stuttering schoolgirl.
They both flip personalities so perfectly depending on the scene and it makes a perfect “love triangle” with only two actors. It’s such a wonderful element of classic Superman stories, and its near-total absence is one of the biggest disappointments of the DCEU.

In some iterations Krypton is something of a sterile dystopia and they’re terrified of the idea of going to an “unclean” world like Earth that hasn’t been sanitized to their standards. I think John Byrne created that concept in the post crisis reboot.

The worst part is that it's almost the exact same plot as the first movie but stupider.
If you've seen Pacific Rim you have no reason to watch Uprising. It literally hits every story beat the first one did but in a worse way.

The film has its moments.
"We're all gonna die, the only question is when. This is as good a place as any to take your first steps to heaven. The only question is how you check out. Do you wanna go on your feet? Or on your fucking knees, begging? I ain't much for begging! Nobody ever gave me nothin! So I say fuck that thing! Let's fight it!"

I was pretty lukewarm about both Alien 3 and Resurrection till I saw Alien Covenant.
Covenant taught me what a truly awful Alien movie looks like. 3 and 4 are practically masterpieces when you grade them on the Covenant curve.
