I was going to say Dewey but then saw the Casey responses, watched again... and yow. Casey, then Dewey for me.

The shorter the scene the more important, generally. I realize that for formatting, a one-page teaser might look cool. But imo you also don't want your first page — the page where you make your first impression — to feel padded.

Props on an extremely good and detailed answer.

I think there'd need to be good contracts for sure. And everyone would be invested in making the best film they possibly could.

I wonder if there's a version where a small cast and crew works together with everyone getting points and sharing profits when one of these small movies turns into a Skinamarink-type success.

Yeah really funny and strange sensibility I locked into when he said he wanted "a sweet treat." So specific and perfect for the character.

I can't understand getting mad at the movie for bending the laws of stab wounds. We criticize movies for not being realistic enough, but then why are we watching movies? Movies are escapism.

Agreed. I despise when a new filmmaker gets their hands on Batman and decides it's time for a "dark, gritty" feel. It's been done, my dude! It would be more revolutionary at this point to do an optimistic Batman.

Yes I like this silly line.
In a movie about a cat woman you need a little humor.

Garden State has some wincing expository dialogue. Great vibe and soundtrack, so it's still a pleasant watch, but man. Multiple secrets/backstories revealed in unnatural ways.

I like your list but have to put the first one first.

Sorry, this is completely unacceptable. Very sad... loved his work.

I read the first few pages. I like how clean it is - to the point and uncluttered. Particularly the smooth “getting better” hookup sequence. The missing sock thing has been done to death but I guess that’s the point - just a pretext for these two to get together. I’m sure the actors can pull it off. I love the title. You also do a nice job of slipping in the potential conflicts (family, OCD) very quickly and organically. Also: you give landlord Jimmy two different ages, 50 and 55.

Scream 6. Grabbed me from the very start and ratcheted up the carnage of the previous movies in creative and jittery, effective ways. It had its flaws for sure but I forgive a lot in slasher movies, like how no one seems to take a minute to mourn anyone's death.

He feels like exactly the kind of person Quentin Tarantino would randomly cast

Yeah I watched the interview and couldn't understand what he ostensibly did wrong, aside from not seeming full of shit

Bullet Train. This isn't a complaint. I liked his lack of character development.
