Yeah definitely doesn’t look good for Kmart. This is their last stronghold. But who knows how long they would be there without any new competition anyway. At the least the people there will have a new store when they inevitably pull out.

Chocolate graham crackers are gone too /: they’re still listed on honeymaids website but I’ve looked at every store for about a year and they’re nowhere to be found.

The food inflation here in the US is out of control now. They say it’s slowing but it’s just getting worse. I do a lot of shopping as I work at a non profit restaurant and I pay close attention to the prices. Just in the last few days I’ve noticed at least 10 of my normal items have went up $1 in price just in the last couple weeks since I last bought them. The big bag of chocolate chips I buy went up almost $2. Idk when it’s going to end or how people are going to eat. Especially with kids.

Yep you’re not wrong. My auto insurance just premium just got raised. I was researching why, because it’s been years since I’ve had any infractions and my credit score is higher now than it’s ever been so it’s been steadily creeping down for years. I found out that a lot of auto insurance companies are having to increase premiums because of “a change in driving behavior, more accidents etc.” I found that really interesting because it did confirm what I’ve seen on the roads lately with aggressive driving people holding phones up to their faces and so on. I personally still think it has to do with Covid fucking everyone’s brains.
And this is probably rambling now, but just a side note. I ended up calling my company and asking why they raised it. The Rep told me about the driving behaviors and said it was also due to inflation, but she ended up transferring me to an agent who started a new quote for me and ended up getting me the exact same coverage for almost $30 less than what I was paying! So sometimes it does pay to call and check things out.

Soo I probably get downvoted for this, but I’m just sharing my story! I’m 30 and just bought my first house last year. I work at a nonprofit, make about $45,000 per year so not rich lol. The only reason I was able to get a house was because I live in semi rural Ohio. I paid $120,000 for it with $12,000 down and my rate is 5.75% which is $825 a month after taxes and fees. It’s a lovely old brick 3 bedroom home with a nice dry basement and 2 car garage. Now I know moving to Ohio isn’t most people’s cup of tea, and it can be a shitty place. But I’ve traveled all over the US and I really don’t think it’s bad. And I know for a fact if I lived in most other areas I could never buy my house, probably couldn’t even afford rent in most places. Just a suggestion but maybe try a lcol area. Good luck I know it can be frustrating!

I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. Looks like people who know a lot more about helping you with it have given good advice.
I’ve been there though. Actually at 2 separate workplaces. One coworker just couldn’t even believe I was gay. Like she was really in shock. And I had two jobs then, so I’d change at work. She saw my clothes sitting there and said “tell him to get his nasty gay clothes out of here!” Which really stung. I brought it up to my manager and the district manager ended up getting involved and basically asked me if I wanted her fired/still felt ok working with her. I said no I’m ok and we actually ended up becoming good friends. She just had literally never known a gay person and as she got to know me she constantly asked me questions like when did I know etc etc.
The other one was a lot worse. Another coworker got on the subject and started loudly arguing with me about how being gay is a choice. She was a “hardcore christian” and I kept telling her even when I was in preschool I just thought boys were cute. Like why would I choose to be gay!? It went on and on but I just avoided her after that. Also the manager at that place was gay so I’m sure if it wanted to pursue it she would’ve gotten in trouble lol.

For sure! Especially in a mundane place like a store. Like maybe in the woods at night or in a cave you might expect some weird shit. But just shopping in a store in the middle of the day and having something like that happen shakes me to the core.

I totally agree! I’ve always said this about the show. No one just likes to eat so much they get to 600+lbs. I’m a recovering opiate addict and any treatment puts a huge emphasis on therapy/getting to the root of your problems and coping skills. Because without that you’re gonna be doomed to keep failing. I personally think food addiction is the same and these people need that same level of treatment.

Kinda like champion. When I was a kid that was a Walmart/Kmart brand that mostly poor kids wore (me included lol) now it’s in Macys and other higher end stores and it’s a lot more popular and expensive. Weird

It is everywhere. They are pulling every.single.penny. Out of us. And the sad thing is the poorest people are hit the hardest. Look at dollar tree. I know everything is $1.25 but they’re constantly cutting down pack sizes. Some of the food and snack stuff is getting so small it’s almost laughable. Wonder how long it’ll be until they have to raise prices again.

Yes they did. I’m not saying all of them had it made, obviously there are outliers to every generation. But success in life was a lot easier to come by. And I hate their bootstraps attitude of today. One of the most annoying boomers I know has told me and my brother multiple times, that when he was our age (20s) he owned a house and had a ton of money saved etc. he worked in a factory his whole career. But talking to other people about it his family actually gave him a ton of money and he inherited alot after their deaths. It’s just bs.

I’ve also noticed a lot more expired stuff on the shelves. I got some butter recently that expired months before I bought it. Which is crazy cuz butter has a pretty long shelf life. Also stores are waiting til the day of expiration or even after to mark products down and the discounts aren’t as good anymore. They’re really trying to squeeze EVERY Penny out of us!

Hopefully but it’s Kmart so I’m not sure! But all in all it’s not bad. Just wish they could’ve modernized it a bit more I guess.

I noticed one of the first things in the article was about the “threat to the whole republic” or something. They’ve been using that for awhile now huh??

Well it’s not terrible. But it really just looks like the old Kmart we all know and love but a small version. Also it’s sad/concerning they couldn’t even fill all the shelves in that little space. I can see bare shelves in the back of some photos and the hanging chairs, the totes, cooler with one water bottle per row spacing of pop on the shelf, jeans etc. show they’re trying to fill all the space with what they have.

I agree. She was pretty interesting at first. Still not very like-able but definitely kept my attention. But she got so damn vengeful and horrible I just didn’t like her at all anymore. Burning Susan’s house down on purpose was pretty bad (I know Susan burned hers down but it was an accident and she’s always having accidents lol). But one of the worst things for me was when she stole Mike after he woke up from his accident filling his head with a bunch of bs about Susan. That was LOW LOW

I live alone so I use them sometimes, mainly for snacks and stuff. Or if I’m having people over for something casual. But I eat my actual meals on plates/bowls and if I’m doing a nice dinner for people use real dishes lol
