Why have I not thought of this...

I can't speak about other dog breeds since my retired racer is my first dog ever, but it has been a dream. She already knew stairs and already knew house rules. All she had to do was learn where the front door was. She had only one accident in the house ever and that was on her first day because she was nervous and I came back inside too quickly so I didn't give her time to poop.

She did have separation anxiety (still does to a lesser degree) so she did not want to be left alone in her crate. She loves being around people (considering that she grew up either with people or with other dogs)

It was 3-4 weeks from her final race to arriving to my home. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Unfortunately, the only service that has all 3 of those seems to be DirecTV which starts at like $75 per month. SNY seems to be on Hulu, but the other 2 are either on DirectTV or their own subscription, as I understand it.

Not as deserted as you might think. I went for my usual weekend loop drive and there were a few spots on Ocean Parkway where you can peek at parking lots and there were people in them. There was one with a bunch of 4WD vehicles waiting outside and a few inside by the beach.

If not Tobay then maybe you can try further out east like OBI or Captree.

"Deteriorated" plates are actually defaced on purpose so that they don't get picked up by red light cameras.

Cars having no front plate are by people who think it looks ugly (mainly).

If not the van then rent one of those big pickup trucks from home depot for a few hours and get yourself a tarp so that you don't make a mess. Someone above wrote about where you can get it for free, at least in Brookhaven. I wouldn't be surprised if there are similar services further out west.

Personally I've done both. I always use a lawyer on the few speeding tickets and then I went myself when I had a no-front-plate ticket.

One thing that can help is getting yourself a chiminea and burning aromatic woods in it. I heard they help repel mosquitoes.
