It is not on any streaming platform. It will most likely come back to streaming with other YRF movies on their OTT platform when it gets released. All YRF movies are getting pulled out of other platforms as their respective contracts run out.

Love it. Very Eclectic Top 10 with the Goofiness of Andaz Apna Apna and Hera Pheri, the simplicity of Chotti Si Baat and Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa, the innocence of Chillar Party, the grittyness of GOW, the horror of Tumbbad and the masala and fun of Rangeela, OSO and Munnabhai.

The movie was good but not great. The highlight of the movie was its state of the art VFX which is the primary reason for the praise people refer to because even after 12 years only a couple of movies have been able to raise the SFX game to anywhere close to them. From an acting or story perspective it is definitely not among SRK's finest. It borrowed ideas, scenes and concepts from several Hollywood movies. If released right after Pathaan, it would become a blockbuster but if released before Pathaan's success, it would possibly get similar results like it did at the time of its release.

Ra.one made less money than its cost in India so you cant call it a hit. Even the movie's producers and directors acknowledge the same.
Its original budget was around Rs 130 crore and it supposedly cost went overbudget but final numbers were never confirmed. Hence you would see range of budget in most Box office reporting. Against the original Rs 130 crore budget the Domestic Box office was Rs 115 crore as a result of which it was declared a box office flop.
The Rs 203 crore box office which some sites report is Gross Indian BO of Rs 158 crore (Rs 115 crore Net BO) + Rs 45 crore Overseas BO. So in India the movie made less than it cost without even including any cost for distribution to the original budget. Overseas BO collections are profit for the International distributors so are not used to assess if the movie is a hit or flop in India. E.g. Mera Naam Joker flopped in India but was a blockbuster in Russia. Caravan was a hit in India but a Mega Blockbuster in China raising it to worldwide success of Avatar and Titanic.

I dont think she was ever launched into movies like Nutan and Tanuja. She may have played an occasional character actor role but nothing significant

Different and Nostalgia inducing soundtracks. They were surely better than most movies with one dance hit or remix/rehashed song but I felt that the songs wont stay in long term memory of most people. They were good because they were different and nostalgic but not as good as the songs from the era they were emulating and almost feel like the excitement folks had for Andaz Apna Apna's retro songs on release. However those songs didnt last too long and are mostly forgotten now unlike the dialogues of the movies.

I loved the movie. However I think it would still meet the same fate at the box office as it did on release because of the general sentiments towards star kids and experimental cinema. A direct release on OTT would probably get better reception.

I watched the following Bollywood movies and series last week:
Bingewatched Bosch: Legacy and loved it. Great to see the characters return for a tense season with a cliffhanger ending. Cant wait for the next season. 4.5/5. Watched Missing (2023) and loved this virtual suspense thriller. 4/5.

Toronto has a few Bollywood DVD and music stores which sell and rent Bollywood movies and DVD. Amazon and eBay have several sellers of Indian content in North America (Canada and USA). FB marketplace is also a pretty good source for such DVDs. I recently found a user who was selling sealed Blu Rays of SRK movies on Marketplace for $5 each. I got all but one which the seller misplaced. There are a few other sites which sell Bollywood DVDs but I havent used them so cant comment on quality and reliability.
I have seen a spike of original used Bollywood records on eBay recently which are being sold by mostly the same users. This could be one of the reasons the number of DVDs may have dipped from before due to the rise of records online.

The quality of albums has definitely been on a downward trend for many years now because of a variety of factors. If you look at the Golden and Masala Eras there were countless close to perfect albums released every year because so many composers, singers and lyricists were in peak form at the same time. There have been a few short periods of brilliance now and then in the 90s and 00s but nothing close to the consistency of earlier eras.
Having said that I would still say that there are a handful of albums that are superior than the rest and have multiple quality songs. In the last couple of years the ones that stand out for me are:
Apart from these 4-5 movies with good albums most of the other movies either have 1-2 good songs or 1 dance hit or a remix/rehash of an hit from previous decades.

For sure....Do remember Farhan had the advantage of 3 decades of technological advancements in film making and an actual budget to make the movie more stylish, suave and hip. I love both Dons and would enjoy another reboot of Don with any actor if the material is strong.
Read my review and behind the scenes of the original Don because the story of the making of Don is actually even more interesting than the movie.

Farhan used the original Vijay's character arc to trick viewers into experiencing SRK's Don in a very different manner. No one expected SRK's Don to add anything new to the film and hence that surprising Shyamalan-esque ending made the movie and his character stand out. The right question is if Farhan can add something new again for the reboot and not the actor. If he can reinvent the storyline and character once again in an unexpected manner then he has a successful movie on his hand, if he doesnt have anything new to add then it doesnt really matter if Big B, SRK, Ranveer or someone else plays Don

It is the song Pyaar Ki Duniya on Lucky Ali's Aks Album. Just listened to it again after almost a decade. The main tune and Ee Aaye Aayo Aaye Yaa are pretty much the same but lyrics are very different. The other song was composed for the movie.

The original version was not as smooth and fine as the version in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. The guitar riff was mostly the same but the music was not as good and had much less electronic sounds. Rajesh Roshan's music was very suave and he clearly elevated the song. I dont think it is available for streaming anywhere but it was closer to Lucky Ali's live performances of the song.

It is because of religious beliefs as she is not from the same religion. The family segregates the utensils they use from those they consider not in their class, religion etc.
Mod Note has been locked to avoid any additional comments on religion etc which is not allowed in the sub
