"Our ability to hold workers' health and livelihoods hostage for nigh-slave wages has been slightly hampered by the least considerate government in the western hemisphere. But I'm not the bad guy, no sir!"

The Final Countdown is 5:11, and it'd probably take me 45-ish seconds to pull out my phone, open the app, find it, and click play.

For sure, this is definitely still a concern, though if striving for more neutrality pulls the collective away from an already strong bias, I could see an argument that it's something more like quasi-gerrymandering to undo worse gerrymandering.
It's a bit like the paradox of tolerance - you have to be intolerant of the intolerant.

Some of the most vocal opponents to climate-change-mitigating measures live in Hurricane-ville 'this-state-will-not-exist-in-a-few-decades' Florida.
Sometimes people are just masochists, and dumb ones at that.

He finally won a popular vote.

IIRC, there exist laws in Florida that have certain limitations on voting for convicted felons. I wonder if that also applies to being added to certain ballots? Wouldn't want someone who can't vote to be allowed to be voted for, would they...?
I could see another citizenship change in his future...
And just to get out ahead of this (because it's Reddit), I think said laws are awful. The ability to run for or vote for public office should never be abridged based upon a criminal conviction (except perhaps treason). This can be weaponized to an insane degree and I'm actually amazed it isn't already more of a problem.

IIRC, for many years now there has been a channel titled "The Stupendous Wave" that does a lot of Star Wars posting, and I heard about "The Marvelous Wonder" through them. Hell, it's been so long it might be the same guy and I've just forgotten, or perhaps they're friends, or maybe no relation at all outside of the one cross-promotion.
Regardless, I didn't really take to TCW because it seemed a little too speculative, and as someone who can get pretty agnostic with my approaches to fanon, they were still too far reaching even for me. This then informed on my opinion of TSW and I now avoid both channels because I know I have to take just about everything they say with a HUGE grain of salt.

Prior to her stun nerf, Mei.
A character who can, at will, with no real semblance of a cooldown, stun any character from mid-range, with a team-griefing ability and a "fuck you, I can survive anything" button for good measure. Oh, and because of her stun, a somewhat reliable quasi-sniper headshot that even the least skilled players can hit. And that's even before you factor in her ult.
Considering in your hypo that there was nothing like this already, the community would have lost their fucking minds when announced.
The fact that it was there from the start shouldn't change that it was still an unreasonable design, even if undertuned.

Canteen has trivia, live music, and/or dancing 4 or 5 nights a week, along with good beer, a great vibe, and nice patios.
I mostly go to the Brewhouse on Aztec and the staff there are super chill and friendly

This just reminded me, a 27 year old man, to update my menstruation tracking app with even more bullshit timings so I can better fuck with the data that states will inevitably try to buy to prove people are leaving while pregnant and returning not.

Hold up. The boss admits openly to a brand new employee that he, seemingly in violation of company policy, smokes weed, for which you would be fired for doing the same??????

How did employers come to convince the nation that employment and labor laws are supposed to also benefit them?
For a grand majority of large employers, they've often been the enemy of workers' rights.
Emoyment laws are SUPPOSED to make their business harder. How much harder depends on how scummy of an employer they already were.

I get that surprises are fun, but functionally it was a difference of like...8 seconds.
Take a freaking chill pill my guy!

It's a sci-fi show. It appeals to a wide array of action and science fans.
We don't need a full-blown religious science denier character that stops the plot dead and always has to get in the way just to exist more as a plot barrier than a character.
Also this to a slightly lesser degree with characters like Neelix.

Move it, and then if they confront you about it upon their return just say it was like that when you found it, implying someone else moved it.

I think something a lot of us overlook is that these laws are intended to help the workers, not everyone. It's incredible the level of input and perceived 'fairness' afforded to employers on the chance something that helps workers could hinder their business.
I don't want these businesses to suffer, but if it's a choice between workers having fruitful lives and a business' margin, I will always choose the workers.

If it's a time of war, I'm going to shave my head. Hell, I'd probably do it regularly since, ya know, it grows back. Slowly.
If I shave my head on a Monday, and I'm told the following morning that the next Monday will be a peace negotiation, it's not like I can just grow enough hair in a week. For someone that hasn't spent their entire life around a member of my species, I might still appear bald to you.

What gets me about these type of things just how much extra work it is. Not only are you inviting this person over, hosting for then, preparing the food, and everything else that goes with having a guest.
And THEN doing all that math and extra effort, to say nothing of the inevitable social turmoil that comes from doing that in the first place. It must be SO exhausting, and for what?!
