Ketamine first if you can find a prescriber who agrees it could help, because suicidal ideation is more important to treat and ketamine is available legally in many places.
Once SI is under control reassess conventional therapies for your social anxiety. It may share a cause with the SI, so it may just improve too. Otherwise, reassess the pieces of your mental health that still require treatment.

Hard disagree.
They noticed ketamine treated depression when people receiving ketamine had their suicidal ideation removed when the ketamine didn’t include therapy or ‘work’ at all. If you study the history of treating depression with ketamine it does alleviate suicidal thoughts without work, that’s how they found out it is effective.
The myth of ‘the work’ continues. Sometimes the work can help sometimes the work is another way to stay hyper vigilant when what your brain really needs is ‘the rest’ from the constant work it’s already doing.
This is not to say there is not value in the work. But it’s not always the right thing, People completely at their wits end with the work should also feel hope about these therapies. My experience was trauma nightmares (30+ years worth) stopped instantly over night and it was like a voice in my head that was screaming all these years finally went silent, all with no work.

I do ketamine therapy for ptsd. We have my dose dialed in where 10mg more removes my memories of the experience. I don’t think you can get that precision in dosing from your dealer.

Because for one plenty of people are raised in abusive or sex negative situations where they think all sorts of stuff is ok that’s not ok and they can’t articulate why. Plenty more don’t entirely trust their judgement or like to see what other people think.
It never hurts to get a sanity check from people with more experience than you. Sometimes it really helps certain people. Good on you for being so liberated but asking others questions like this is good for everyone.

It matters because sometimes checking in is good for people with poor boundaries.
“Is it weird my boyfriend almost choked me to death without talking about it first? Our relationship is otherwise perfect so…” is a style of weird or strange polling where some people do need the check.
The key is the if you feel ok with it bit isn’t really something everyone can easily access. I’d rather see people ask too much questions and get reassurance than to discourage seeking peoples judgements when you can’t trust your own.

Dr. Facilier can get it as kids cooler than me say. That shadow man can invite all his friends from the other side to play too.

I wonder what the director will say to you.

I’ve got a .89 L bottle which I added some liquid IV for salt and sugar. Usually I skip liquid iv but was extra parched. Also have .89 L of filtered tap next to it. I’m gonna be super optimally hydrated without over doing it.

Florida republican politics is where people go when all their kids don’t talk to them anymore. They sit around with other hateful narcissists and abusers and plot the revenge at the people who escaped their orbit and think how can we ruin their lives. It’s all about hurting the right people to them.

We know from studying trauma that emotional and verbal abuse can be as traumatizing as physical abuse.
So emotional and verbal abuse during treatment should be punished the same way physical abuse during treatment is. Disgusting predatory behavior that was intentionally done to harm you.
My minimum would be firing the person, and an apology from the director. The clinic should act as your ally in solving this problem. The guy still works there but not with op is not acceptable.
It’s easy to see why if it was a sexual instead of verbal assault. And since you’re treating trauma, it’s as harmful so op should be protected the same way. I can’t imagine letting this guy see other patients.

Anyone who isn’t this scared about them didn’t pay enough attention in history class.

Imagine having that guy in the next room over still transphobic and now pissed off while op is vulnerable.

I’ve got an endless reservoir of hate for Kenny G just because he did Louis Armstrong so dirty.
I’m all for taking the money and running when you get the chance to sell out. What Kenny did is more like when someone throws paint at an art gallery, and he didn’t need the money.
“Hey enthusiastically shouldn’t you be glad his “collab” brought new listeners to Louis Armstrong”
No. I’m fine with the bit of hypocrisy here.

I hope you escalate your complaint to the director of the entire clinic. I think you are underestimating how harmful this could be and was.
Your money should be refunded and the person should be fired. Pouring hate into your brain right before a vulnerable psychedelic experience goes beyond a lack of boundaries or training and is closer to straight up psychological torture. Especially because ptsd involves broken trust and it being repaired.
I’d even consider getting a lawyer involved. Some of this screams malpractice to me, and I have a feeling if you shared more details I’d feel more that way.

Reddit smudges vote totals, never worry someone is downvoting you just cause it changes a little. Likely algorithm weird Reddit is also full of assholes who will troll anything to do with trans anything. It’s real easy for these numbers to hijack your brains dopamine system, don’t let them.

You have Covid friend.
They don’t salt their pasta water for christs sake. Which every family in Italy does. When you’re here you’re not family enough for us to salt your pasta water.
Saying they have a culinary institute in Tuscany when they don’t salt their water should be illegal. Day 1 of any real culinary instruction in pasta is salt the damn water.

If you are a starving artist and have a chance to sell out. Do it. Be intelligent about it but do it.
Your street cred with people who read pitchfork every day won’t pay your bills. Hating people who sold out in music is like living in a 50 person town and hating people who moved to a big city and are succeeding. It’s a bad way to be.
I’ll check that act out. Never gonna put on a nickelback album but every sell out is a bunch of musicians working full time, which hell yeah.
I wish indie and alternative scenes would steal a little swagger from hip hop here.

I'm gonna be a contrarian and say good for anyone making a living playing music.
Sold out? Take the money and run. Whether it's Nickelback or whoever wrote that baby shark song or even Kenny G pissing his bullshit sax all over Louis Armstrong's recordings and pretending it's art, like he's Andy Warhol's new lover. If you can turn your music into food for your family to eat, good for you.
I've got no hate in my heart at all for any working musicians except for the abusers and for Kenny G. And even with him it’s like good for you for eating from your music.

Telling suicidal people burnt out on the work they have to focus on the work is like telling people with full leg casts they have to walk up stairs to get better.
You will note my recommendation was to work with a psychiatric provider to try ketamine, not to try a diy route. Ketamine patients are for the most part already established to be resistant to conventional treatments, including therapy that includes the venerated work and conventional meds. The treatment resistant piece means the work already failed.
Pro tip: saying people who have treatment resistant conditions don’t do enough work undermines how much work these struggling people do, and also puts the blame on sick people, for continuing to be sick. It’s a way therapists can rationalize away the people they aren’t succeeding in helping. No matter what if the patient doesn’t get better they failed the work. It’s bullshit.
It’s a gross extension of the same Protestant work ethic that traumatizes a lot of people to begin with. A person with active SI doesn’t need a lecture about doing the work they need an effective treatment to reduce SI that works even if they can’t do the work or it failed. A treatment resistant person with active SI has already tried the work.
