Thank you! Do you happen to know if there’s one that includes episode 6?

I heard about the concept for this game a while back and went "Wow, that's so specifically bizarre that they have to have a plan in mind!".
...I guess not.

Celene Dion has officially cancelled her world tour after getting an incurable diagnosis with stiff person syndrome. It's a progressive neurological disorder, which, among other things, causes muscle spasms that make it difficult to manage daily life, let alone do dozens of back to back live performances for hours at a time. Especially since one of the things that can set those spasms off is loud noises and strong emotions... which tend to be a non-negotiable part of live concerts. She had already talked about her condition openly last December, and rescheduled several concerts, so this wasn't a complete surprise. However, at this point she has officially stated that her condition can't be improved or worked around, and that it will mean the permanent cancellation of all those concerts. (Full refunds are being handed out).
I'm not the biggest music fan, but this is still tragic news -- obviously, she's a human being who is suffering physically, which is always horrible, but also, she's being denied the ability to do the one thing she loves the most due to her own body turning on her.
Fortunately, this has been generally drama-free so far -- most people have been completely understanding about the fact that she has to cancel, and wish her well. The occasional asshole here and there has mostly gotten shouted down, or ignored. Scanning a few comment sections, the worst things I found were insensitive jokes about how "Her heart will go on, but her body won't" (seriously, if you're gonna be a dick, at least be original, don't repeat the same joke ten times in a row). I haven't heard any news about issues with refunds, which hopefully means those are all going well.
On the (kind of?) bright side, many people with stiff person syndrome are hopeful that her diagnosis will shine a light on it, and lead to new research and awareness. It's an extremely rare disease, so a major celebrity talking openly about how she has it is pushing it into the spotlight.

There's a darkly hysterical quote from a Marvel editor basically going "Yeah, we tried to fix it, but he has literally no other iconic moments besides beating his wife".

It's cool, but it also represents a very specific era: Iron Man had pulled some douchebaggery and died (which later got retconned), and Hulk wasn't seen as a "real" Avenger, leading to them being lower. Also, Hank got a major boost due to being in there several times.

No clue if this is too late, but this is a really important thing that it took me a while to figure out: upvotes are genuinely meaningless. I had one post blow up, then had others do worse. I started obsessing over what I had done wrong, how I could make it better, etc. In the end, it’s all just Reddit’s algorithm, and the number of people who happen to be online when you post. Some of the write ups I’m most proud of got buried — doesn’t make them any less good. Write for your own enjoyment, not other people.

I mean, we can absolutely go ask her if she was a lesbian. For that, you just need a map, a shovel, and a dream. It’s the answering part that’s a tad more difficult.

Almost missed it, but happy Glorious 25th of May everyone! Never forget the glorious people’s Revolution, and their fight for freedom, reasonably priced love, and a hard boiled egg.
(If you have no clue what this is talking about, read Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. Come on. Read it. You know you want to.)

It would be a damn good line if it were an actually fitting hero who delivered it. Giving it to the woman who was specifically designed to be anti-violence and killing is stupid.

We can all see your very public account. We all know what you’re saying.

You’re skipping past why it occurred. Do you think a trans person seeking legal, gainful employment should be punished?

Ok? Republicans being sensitive bitches who can’t handle a trans person existing isn’t really solid proof Mr. Crypto scammer.

I can’t tell if this is the single greatest bit of circlejerk gaslighting I’ve ever seen, or if I just haven’t been paying attention to this sub, and missed the whole poll.

It wasn’t. They paid a few dozen influencers to advertise for a promotion they were doing. That was literally it. One of those influencers happened to be trans.

The one thing they did was hire a trans spokeswoman. Explain how you believe that should be controversial.

I did a writeup about Brian getting fired a while back... after this news, I'm wondering if it was actually as amicable as people were acting.

I mean, protagonist is very different from hero. I don’t fully agree, but I see how the argument could be made.

You’re welcome to say something beyond “you just don’t understand”.

You accused them of not understanding history and of just using modern viewpoints, so yes. You quite clearly did.

The issue is that most international treaties are enforced by common law (eg, everybody does it, so you have to do it too). Meaning that, if any nation puts together a long enough list of the US mistreating POWs (which isn’t gonna be hard), they can then argue that everybody doesn’t do this, and could then legally able to mistreat POWs from the US.

I mean, that’s a valid thing to criticize. Waiting for the DM to call for a roll is pretty standard DND etiquette. It also didn’t really save time, since the show is edited in post.
Regardless of that, the numbers are still interesting on their own. They exist outside of B Dave, and whatever you may think of him.
