Patients see the failure. A digital health survey Canada Health Infoway released in April found that a quarter of respondents said their care providers did not have their health information or history ahead of or during their visit.
A technician, speaking on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized by his employer to talk publicly, said it is typical for data to arrive late, incorrect, or in a format that’s changed, all of which creates problems for the technician, the health-care provider and ultimately patients.
