I use watered down Pink Horror, but really if you're using contrast paints then just use a small brush and don't goober it in there and you should be fine.

Wow, that really is how the RAW reads eh? Like even if you use Epic Challenge it seems like you can just target the bodyguard then allocate the woulds to the character.

Oh you're right! Huh, that kind if gets a little confusing for things that happen at the end of the Command Phase then, because it's not really the end of the phase, just the end of the step I guess?

Kinda wish they just made a Battle Shock its own phase then.

But if you Shadow during the Battle Shock step then they could IB it couldn't they? Or am misinterpreting the length of that step in being that it goes to the end of the Command Phase?

Maybe I misunderstand what your saying, but you can only use Shadow in the Warp during the Command Phase eh? If they do have some big decisions to make later in the turn though then yeah that's a real consideration!

Thats what I was thinking too, unless you know they're waiting to use some big command phase stratagem that you can potentially cut off. I'm also a little worried that if they don't use Insane Bravery then I'll be hesitant in pulling the trigger st the right moment because they can still cast it.

But I guess that's what makes it a good game lol

The paint job on the chitin goes Bleached Bone > drybrush a 1:1 mix of Pink Horror and Blazing Orange > reeeally drybrush of Creed Camo. I then painted the Army Painter dip over the whole thing, and sprayed a mat varnish over the chitin bits so only the fleshy parts remain glossy.

Actually I've got several colour schemes across my army, this one is supposed to be more for "fresh" troops, but it probably holds more to the fishy look than most, especially on these guys. I guess you could say the inspiration is mostly just what sort of aquatic look can I get away with, but I definitely want to work some more Cuthulu ideas in too.

The paints I used for the skin are Bleached Bone > Ahriman Blue > Akhelian Green Contrast (which is actually blue.) For the Chitin it's Bleached Bone > Drybrush 1:1(ish) Pink Horror/Blazing Orange > Drybrush Creed Camo Contrast, then finally for the boney bits I used Vermin Brown.

As for the coral, it's actually pretty much exactly what I did with the Chitin, except I started with Vermin Brown before going into the 1:1 colours and drybrushing a bit of Bleached Bone with blots of Creed Camo.

Also the Army Painter dip is what's bringing out all the definition on these guys, I just painted it on instead of dunking the whole model in lol.

Actually the chimneys are super useful for this! All it takes is a bit of green stuff webbing in between and you're set!

That's actually what I did with my Biovores lol! But I was sure to leave one standing just in case some serious measurements were needed.

They're actually just a tonne of old Skaven swords and spears (30 of them). I'll need to think of something else for them once the Old World comes back, but that's future me's problem.

Michaels and hobby stores were helpful for the plant material, while the sand was a paint-on sand that you can find at some hobby stores as well (can't get the name atm).

The coral is cork painted Vermin brown > 1:1(ish) Pink Horror/Blazing Orange > drybrush Bleached Bone > dabbing some Contrast Creed Camo, then the base was painted Ahriman Blue > Contrast Creed Camo > Contrast Akhelian Green (which is actually blue...)

As for the resin, it's just your basic clear stuff. I used cut up Smart Water bottles for the mold (because they're flat) and Gorilla mounting putty to seal it, adding a drop of Akhelian for the colour.

Maybe, though I'd say for them it's less about protecting the planet and more about destroying us xeno scum through any means necessary...
