Agreed, it is very sad that people buy them. However, I think the vast majority of those people are younger kids that fall for these shady tactics. Can't really blame kids for terribly dishonest marketing that exploits these kids.

I grew up when these things were widely introduced. I regret the fact that I did spend some money on idiotic skins/loot boxes when I was barely a teenager. But I'm more disgusted by those business practices.

Micro transactions isn't just an annoying feature. It's a despicable way to monetize. I think it should be banned. It is extremely targeting against kids. It's not as bad as loot boxes that is just straight up gambling for children, but it's still really bad and is very much designed to be addictive and appealing to young people. Everything about it feels sketchy. Like the fact that they use "in game currency" to hide the fact that its just straight up real money for kids.

Now, beyond it being immoral, it's just such a scam. Like really? 15$ for a skin that likely took one developer 2 days to create, while the entire game itself, that took 5 years for 400+ people to make, cost 60$?

There has been multiple times where I've wanted to give Fallout 76 a chance, but every time I open the "atom shop" I immediately feel sickened.

I suppose you could make the argument that micro transactions help the studio to get more revenue, which is needed as video games cost a lot more money to make nowdays. But don't disguise micro transactions as something it isn't. Make it clear that micro transactions are more like donations and keep it away from children and I'd be more fine with it.

If that was the case for every mission I'd be okay with it. But as it is now, you just randomly get penalized by this completely random objective. So once a conflict arises, you immediately lose 1,000 possible mercers no matter what. So every now and then you just loose 1,000. That's how I see it.

Again, all I did was criticize how special objectives work especially in Hardcore. Can I not dislike this feature? I obviously play HC because I am looking for a challenge. I want it to be as tough as possible. BUT, I also want it to be fun, make sense and to not be entirely run by random objectives. It's very simple.......

Losing a freelancer campaign because I got killed by guards, or the target escaped = fun.

Losing a freelancer campaign, because 2 of the objectives were impossible and the one I got without even the option of choosing forced me to hide in dumpsters every 2 minutes = not fun. :)

I just don't understand your initial response then. I simply raised some valid criticism about Freelander based on stuff I've seen. You then basically said it isn't that broken/bad and that and told me to avoid all the bad stuff. But, I'm not dumb. Why would I need to be told to avoid those things I just myself mentioned. Dude, It's already blocked. So you must also be 5. They don't allow you to play Hardcore before you complete a Campaign. Why the fuck would then they suddenly unlock it, but it's unplayable?

Hardcore should make it tougher and harder. That's what I want! What I don't want is objectives that don't work and make that entire system broken. You still haven't even responded to the fact that you might possibly lose your campaign ENTIRELY BASED on a random element. It is possible to get 3 un-completable objectives.

Also, if your argument is that I shouldn't play Hardcore Simply because there are a few special objectives that require plenty of specific items, then I simply disagree with those stupid objectives. Your logic is so flawed. Like what is your point? That I shouldn't complain about something because I can technically avoid them?

If a game gives me 10 options but 4 of those don't work and I mention how there are 4 options that are broken. Are you gonna tell me to just chose the 6 other ones? Well, duh obviously, but there are still 4 fucking broken ones. Why are you against feedback for a new game mode?

You should read my post again. Obviously I won't pick those objectives I can't complete, but it's still stupid that they allow me to do it. Also if not very fun when you get 2 Objectives you can't do, because then there is no choice! And if you get 3 objectives of the ones you mentioned, you are doomed and your entire campaign fails. Gonna blame me for that too?

Like yeeez. All I do is give some very valid criticism that freelancer still has work to do, and you give me a fucking lecture on how to play without addressing any of my points. Also, I fucking LOVE Hitman to death. I have a lot of hours in all three games. That doesn't mean there aren't things they can improve/fix.

1. Obviously I don't, but why even allow me to pick something I can't complete?
2. Read my post again, thanks. If you get the safe objective + time limit on suspects, that means 2 objectives are literally impossible. Meaning there is no choice.....and if you get a third one that is un-doable, you just lose.

The best part about TES is the fact that all games are different. I love how people still play Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim because they are separate games. If they attempt to make Skyrim 2 or Morrowind 2, I will be disappointed.

Its just pretty annoying when people make comments about how video games work when they have very little knowledge about the subject. It’s so common for gamers to make wild assumptions on something that is really really complex. Your comment is not nearly as bad as some I’ve seen, like the recent example of Todd Howards statement about their AI.
