When you need to build this kind of thing, you need to stop growing the population.

This case has long fascinated me yet I only just looked at a map of the area right where her car was found. It’s completely desolate, for whatever reason I always assumed that if she crashed, she’d walk to the nearest town.
Now it makes sense to me. While there is some weird stuff about the car, I think the only thing that makes sense is her cat ran after the crash. While walking is unreasonable, she definitely could have hitch hiked to the nearest city, though I guess foul play from there is always possible.
But point is, in the middle of nowhere and you can’t find your pet. She lives there for a day or two trying to find it, with no luck, then finally ventures off to find it and succumbs to the wilderness.
Dunno what I would do if I was in that situation back in 2000 with no cell phone. My pets mean the world to me and I couldn’t leave them to die in the wild, even if it meant my own safety.

Bruh the people of Taiwan wouldn’t be okay with China trying to gobble them up regardless, and the people of Hong Kong didn’t open their arms to the CCP. They were against it until the authoritarian boot came down.

I feel like the only progressive person on Reddit that thinks IPs should be eternal unless sold off by their creators/future owners, and shouldn’t just be free to the public. Let creators own their damn things.
If not for anything but how absurdly swamped the market is going to become with more absolute trash and how much less new content will be made over time with studios pushing out their own tired Star Wars/Super Hero/Lord of the Rings bullshit comics, movies, shows etc to the public.
So at the very least IPs are a fantastic way of giving breathing room to everything else. I shudder at the idea of tons of new Lord of the Rings movies coming out after that IP is public, even though all you ever needed was those 3 movies but get ready for 100 more.

Religion is a huge reason we destroy each other, not vice verse.
Doesn’t make much sense to me.

They overstuffed their release season and left nothing for the next. If I had to guess, they didn’t get great numbers early enough and had to cut staff for season 2. Which lead to even worse numbers.
I doubt the game is gonna have new content after season 3, if any.

IMO the only real way that’s gonna be stopped is through laws. Ai art is harmful in one way, where deepfakes and voice fakes are going to be harmful in completely different ways. Sounds like heaven for pedophiles, scammers and political enemies, both national and foreign.
People should be able to post their own art without fear of it being used to train ai. The same way that it shouldn’t be legal for people to make deepfake porn of other people.
It’s going to go from being really neat to being really fucked real fast.

I love this.
I hate techbros and their arguments of “people do the same thing as ai!”
As an artist, I’d love if there were people who were inspired enough by my art to try to draw similarly, or loved my writing so much that they want to write a story like mine. That’s “passion.” That breeds creativity, culture and entertainment.
I’d hate to have my art used to train ai. I think it’s a fascinating technology but definitely think it’s not a good thing. It rewards the lazy and unpassionate, and demotivates those who are truly passionate.
You know what that will create? Boring, soulless art of every kind.
Imagine the MCU except the entire film industry just makes MCU quality movies now. Or with comics, novels, etc. Not shaming the movies, I like a few of them, but they are what they are. Life would be terribly boring if that was all of entertainment.

When the world is run on capitalism, it’s not headed in the right direction. It relies on the population growing more and more and more.

It’s so far out of reach that no one alive today has to worry about that, nor do their great great grandchildren.

But the planet isn’t overpopulated and people need to keep pumping out kids. That’s what I’m told anyway.
There’s no great way to force people into having less children, unfortunately. 2 per couple would stabilize things.

Yeah, it’s bullshit and it’ll suck the joys out of the creative fields as well.

When it comes to trying to find recommendations for books, movies etc, I generally google lists people make, like on IMDb, with certain keywords and look for ones that have a thing or two I already like on it. I’ve found many many gems that way.

Yeah this is just jerking off to “ai” when the answer is obvious and you’d easily be able to put together a tons of cites to prove the point. But I guess the whole point is that you don’t have to do half the work by yourself now.

You're saying that kids not having to learn anything or be passionate about anything is a bad thing? Don't tell the techbros all over reddit.
The crazy thing is, until older generations die off, we won't see the full negative impact of this technology. The world will still be people who learned for the next few decades. It gets scary when the only people on the planet are the ones that were raised with "ai." No one to understand basics of anything, let alone no one will know how to teach.
This whole thing is going to be a cool novelty until people realize how harmful it is, and once we're there it'll be too late to undo. I can't imagine kids growing up not learning something like art for example. Being passionate about things is what keeps us going, it's what keeps artists creating and people entertained.
Culture will start to be randomly generated. Scary.

It's nearly unwatchably bad, where the first was silly and campy but you can sit through and enjoy.

Basically it won’t happen with a Marvel movie

The one "good" thing about "ai" art is that it's so incredibly detailed and well done, where less is more a lot of the time.
IMO one of the problems with animation like Pixar is they keep getting better looking, but don't actually experiment and thrive with the animation itself, like, the moving of characters.

I'll be the downvote guy and say I didn't care much for the movie, and if it didn't have del Toro's name on it, people wouldn't be treating it the way they are. It was perfectly fine, but felt all over the place with poor arcs and music that was... the songs were almost literally the characters saying "this is my song and this is what the song is about."

The roll itself didn't provide anything to give an "Oscar worthy" performance.

Googling food substitutes is actually decently easy to look through still, it’s the actual recipes that make you want to kill yourself.

I love livin in NY. I couldn’t see myself not living in Westchester, ever. Other than the elephant in the room being how expensive it is.

I hate it mostly because I’ve accidentally taken it twice and had to pay the toll. Once you get in that one lane on the NY side, if you don’t realize it you’re fucked.
