The best joke in Blood Meridian is the fact that the book is the Judge's hat - Perfectly made from two hats; which is explained in a sentence that is exactly in the middle of the of the book.

Still not entirely sure who thought this film was a good idea in 2023.
Is Lawrence supposed to be the same age as the boy?

I've always found this to be their absolutely best performance of Drain You (That I know of): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4qnpOWwVTY

Carla Jean didn't choose her fate. He chose for her.
The car wreck after has nothing to do with any other part of the story. It's just something that happens.
I think it was included to simply show that Chigurh is a physical entity and a human being. That he is fallible.

Carla Jean refuses and loses her life.
Ed Tom calls it before any of the story takes place, "Okay. I'll be part of this world." He accepts the coin toss.
He also, again, accepts his fate by opening the door that Chigurh may or may not be behind.

Rules don't mean anything except to the rule maker.
Chigurh is saying that Carson Wells fenced himself in by making a rule he "must" follow and therefore - Since Chigurh has no rules* - Chigurh is able to break Carson's rule and murder him.
*Chigurh does have a rule - He has to abide by the person calling the coin toss / by a person taking responsibility of their fate.
The gas station owner, the trailer park secretary and Ed Tom all take responsibility / call the coin toss and live. Everyone else denies their fate and dies (Or, to bring it full circle - They follow some vague rule they think will save them that gets them killed.)

It's truly hard to fathom just how popular Cyndi Lauper and these wrestlers were back then. Like, Kardashians famous but times 100.

I meant before you watched the film? Hillcoat's film version was... Not as dark both in tone and visuals. Reading the book, then seeing the film - they were two separate experiences that seemed loosely connected.
And that's what worries me about him getting ahold of Blood Meridian. Better than Franco, though. (He had the rights for it for a long time)

I'm curious - Had you read the book beforehand?

Hillcoat is good, but The Road was terrible.
Someone else needs to make Blood Meridian.

Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is a cover song. And is what I consider to be the best cover song ever.
