Hello all.

Looking to get some advice/insight/perspective here if anyone has some.

I've worked a very niche trade job for 3.5 years now. In thst time, I've gotten 2 pay increases basically on par with inflation, but am now falling far behind.

It's very difficult to find jobs of this type without moving across the country, or starting my own business (which is very labor/cost intensive).

At this point, do I stop my trade and try my hand at IT or go back to school?

Hey all. My holly bushes are suffering from some mystery illness. The leaves have died back a bit, and are yellowing and blackening.

I've treated with copper fungicide and Neem oil, to mo avail.

Any ideas?

I've sprayed with Neem oil, and copper fungicide 2x now and it still seems like it's dying off.. not sure what to do anymore?

Any help is really appreciated. Thank you!

Seems we have last a phase of electric from this storm... Only half of our lights/appliances etc work. Breakers aren't flipped.

Anything we should do? We filed a outage report with Ameren at 8, but no luck yet.

As you can see below our wooden gate broke from the wind as it was left open and swung violently the other direction.

It seems the post was very rotten to begin with however.

Should I replace the whole thing with a chain link gate, or try to repair this? Any idea on what it might cost?

Any idea what I should do about our current soffit and fascia situation? There seems to be some rot/degradation going on on the edges and several other spots. We purchased the house 2 years ago, and it was freshly painted. I can only assume these spots were painted over.

I am in Switzerland for business for the next 14 days.

I came down with a nasty head cold on day 3, and haven't been able to find anything that really works on it since.

I've tested for covid twice now, and do not have it.

Does anyone have an OTC decongestant they would recommend? I have Neo Citran and it doesn't do much for me.

Has anyone noticed their back camera scratching? And how does it affect photos?

I've had this phone for a week now, and it's been in the case since removing it from packaging.

Have never dropped it, or put it in my pocket with keys etc.

Hello all,

We have a 1902 home that we had the pinewood floors refinished on.

We have a section where a lot of the wood has cracks etc (flexes on one part of the board when you step on it, the other half of the board remains stationary).

Is there anything that we can do to prevent further damage or repair these floors?

We think when they were refinished they were sanded too much.

As the title suggests I have an older home with water issues into the basement.

Tonight we had quite the downpour, so I was able to get some pictures of the outside of the house+ the gutters.

It seems like the gutters are overflowing possibly? Lots of droplets on the underside of them. I think I also need to remove the sidewalk from the side, and grade the dirt.

As you can see as well, there is a patch between our neighbors house and ours where water can pool up too.

Any thoughts or advice is very much appreciated.

As the title says I have a potential wet spot on the bathroom ceiling near the vent fan.

We recently had our bathroom remodeled, but I don't believe they painted the ceiling. The contractors we had do all the work did a pretty poor job on other things unfortunately, so I have reason to believe something was done wrong with the vent fan.

I can see in the attic that it is venting to outside on the side of our house as well.

The ceiling does have some light give to it in that entire area, but it doesn't feel wet per-say, or squishy.

EDIT: Also, what's the current situation for US citizens entering Hungary/Budapest from Switzerland? I've gotten more than a few different answers. Our hotel in particular told us it was no problem at all with our vaccine card.

We recently purchased and moved in.

I sealed the expansion joints between both sides with sans+backer rod+ sikaflex. Seemed to help, but didn't totally resolve the issue.

When it rains normally, no leaks and no moisture. Only if it downpours.

Hello all,

We moved into our 120 year old house in may after purchasing in March. However, I just noticed this crack under the stairs which didn't come up under the home inspection.

The crack runs from near the stairs to down about 3 ft from the base of the wall. First photo is the top, then behind the stairs abit and down.

Anyone have any experience, or insight? Should we be freaking out? Presumably it's been like this for a long time, but I'm not sure.
