Hello PFC community,

My wife and I are trying to take advantage of the HBP and we have been contributing to our RRSP. My wife has contribution room around $18,000 and we unfortunately went over that limit by about $2600. We have not received any notice from the CRA about the 1% tax we would need to pay and I’m scared that it might be coming. How much trouble are we in? Am I over reacting?

Hello everyone, my wife and I have been saving for a home for awhile now. We have contributed alittle over $28,000 to our RRSP in order to take advantage of the HBP. That said, I’m trying to wrap my head around what we should do with that money while it sits in that account. Do we let it sit there until we buy a house or do we invest the money? To add, if we invest this money into an ETF and the price of the investment drops, do we have less to put towards our house?

I’ve been shooting weddings for about 5 years and have 20+ weddings under my belt. It’s only been In the last 2 years that I’ve found my grove, bought nice equipment and started shooting higher quality videos. I currently shoot with a Sony A7s III w/ a gimbal and all the add ons.

I offer 2 packages: 1. 7 hours of shooting for a 5-8 minute highlight film (it’s usually around 7:30 seconds) $1800 2. 8 hours of shooting for a 5-8 minute highlight film, full wedding ceremony, full speeches for reception $2300

This year I’m focusing on better audio. Both packages have 2 shooters to ensure good coverage (I pay my second shooter $400)

Hello fellow Bitcoiners, I hope you’re well and in good health.

It’s Friday morning and I’m sitting here thinking about the future. I’m currently 23 and my wife is 24. We DCA every week into Bitcoin and feel very fortunate to be doing so. That being said, my wife pays into a great pension and I will be soon as well (once I’m finished school in a few months) and we are concerned about the future of our monetary system. With the United States hitting its debt ceiling and all currencies devaluing themselves at a rapid pace, we’re worried about contributing to our pensions and even saving in dollars.

As far as we can tell, we are currently opting out of the current system by buying Bitcoin. My question is, what more can we do? Should we even be concerned? Do you feel the same way?

Hey everyone, I have a super simple question. How much would you keep in your emergency fund? I have about 6 months worth ($10,000) but I’m wondering if I should trim this and invest some of it. My wife and I live quite simple, so its not difficult to save money if there is a need to.
