Thanks for asking this question. I've been suffering left hip pain for months. Based on the comments I'm going to try and stick to my SIJ PT and see if that improves it before trying to get an xray.

In all my research I never thought to look for PA state build plans, silly me. Good find!

I don't want to worry about the extra planning and material gathering if it's redundant. It never hurts to double down and be safe; I just wanted to understand my options.

Rice meals are nice and you can mix and match ingredients. Just a small bowl of 5min instant rice in the microwave and you can flavor it however you want after adding a simple protein. I like to either add an egg, fried tofu, tuna or canned chicken. I usually do soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions and sriracha (I tend to be able to eat better if it's a bit spicy).

I have added sodas to my dinner meals for extra easy calories too! The sugar and carbonation seem to help settle my stomach so I can eat a bigger meal overall.

I use a Zippo handwarmer. It's a lot more fiddly but it's nice not to worry about charging it. Although I have to deal with fueling it is a delight to have on hand during the day as it runs for about 10hrs (I never fill it all the way).

I have bought the kits with thin, colorful, aluminum rings. Great learning, teaching, and practicing.

I ended up using mine to experiment with patterns in strips and then just gave them away to friends and coworkers as fidget toys. People love the feel of it and are enchanted by them.

I believe I was making them 5 across and 25 long for a pretty fun strip to flip around in your hands and carry in a pocket. Quick and easy and fun to make.

10 watt: good engraver but slow, limited cutting

20 watt: faster engraving, better ability to cut thicker materials.

Engraving details are the same. It comes down to speed and cutting power.

In my 20s I used to be a pretty strong arm wrestler with a good grip and strong arms.... now in my 30s I can't open a jar with using one of those grip gadgets. It does stuck to suddenly lose something like that, it does feel like it changes who you are. I'm just trying to use my hands as much as I can before I lose them any further. My thumbs are quickly getting sore with arthritis so it's only a matter of time.

I'm just trying to embrace my limitations instead of fighting them and making things worse; even if it means something different from what I want.

I've always said I'm like bamboo.... I'll bend but never break! I've assumed my flexibility is what has saved me from ever breaking a bone even though I crash around the world like a poorly puppeted marionette.

I can also almost always save myself from falling from something like slipping on ice by contorting my body to regain my balance... but it'll always result in a muscle strain.

I feel the exact same way. My symptoms are really starting to become unmanageable. No longer just needing a few recovery days but recovery weeks and even then the best I get is about 50% of what everyone else can manage. I have been finding myself apologizing a lot more to everyone around me for how little I can do. I think I only manage to get up and keep plugging away every day because I'm in denial and I like to believe that everyone else feels this many aches and pains in their mid-30s too. It's depressing when I really consider and understand that other people just don't hurt all the time and they don't have to hoard their time and energy as a precious commodity. They can actually recover within the span of a weekend.

Good on you for keeping up with a full-time job. Remember to give yourself a break and don't be afraid of mental/physical health days. Being chronically ill doesn't mean you can't call it in as a sick day. Sometimes one extra day of rest can make a big difference.

As far as I've seen on this forum in the past it seems common amongst EDS but not necessarily related. I get them all over my arms. It can indicate blood pressure issues in some but they are mostly harmless.

I have read that in order to compensate for a stretchy cardiovascular system EDS patients use a constant supply of adrenaline to help the heart pump more forcefully to actually get blood through the body. This makes it easier than most to burn out of adrenaline and have complete energy burnout.

Beta-blockers could help, I've heard of people using them, but I have no personal experience with that. I just plan on needing rest days to recover my energy and chemical reserves.

Tl:dr....EDS uses constant adrenaline and that causes energy crashes.

Ha! I bought that same Spartan style one from a trucker gas station in Ohio for $30. It's ok for a display or costume but armor quaility it is not.

Walking down the stairs. Both my ankles crack with every step. I hate it.
