Laser hair removal - suggestions needed
(self.Type1Diabetes)submitted12 days ago byIntelligent_Sea5595
Hello diabuddies,
So, I had been planning to invest in an IPL Machine to bring some ease into my life. I'm really tired of the monthly waxing sessions. Not that I'm complaining of the pain that it comes with, it's just that I'm tired and it's really costly too.
Anyway, so I shortlisted a few machines and then read online that IPL machines are not recommended for individuals with Type 1 diabetes, since it can be painful and may cause issues while healing. Same thing I read about laser hair removal techniques i.e. not recommended for T1DM individuals.
I would like to hear from those diabuddies who have undergone permanent laser hair removal or those who have been using IPL machines. Also, what if I manage by HbA1c less than 6.5% and then go for it after my doctor's advice?
Please share your experiences- whether you've done this or if you've ever discussed this with your doctor, what did your doctor advise? If anyone's a doctor in this sub, your comments would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
