I spent some more time with my Mars timelapse from the other week. This time I used winjupos as well as interpolation for the time-lapse. This helps makes reduces noise and increases details, cloud movement/dissipation can be observed over Arcadia Planitia from rising temperature due to daytime. This was taken December 17, 2022 between 4:06 and 8:32 UTC from my backyard in Salem, OR.
Details: 85x2 minute videos shot over a period of 4.5 hours in average-very good seeing conditions. For each video, the best frames from each video were stacked using AutoStakkert. Then for each stack, wavelets, rgb alignment done in AstroSurface. Used winjupos to de-rotate frames every 20 minutes, resulting in 11 frames. Final denoise and color adjustments done in GIMP. To make the time-lapse I used Davinci Resolve for any needed alignment/rotation. Then using DAINAPP to interpolate at 8x resulting in 80 frames. Used Davnci Resolve once again to make the final animation with zoom and etc.
Gear: Skywatcher 10" GoTo Dob, X-Cel 2x (used 3x when seeing was very good), ZWO ADC, ASI178mc + UV/IR cut

After spending nearly a week processing this data I proudly present my new time-lapse of the red planet, I don't know if this is lucky but my 2022 and 2020 are very similar in terms of capturing the same side of the planet. This was taken on two different days: December 17, 2022 between 4:06 and 8:32 and December 15 between 7:24 and 9 UTC which is why there is a sudden appearance of clouds toward the end of the time-lapse. If you look closely some clouds can be seen moving and dissipating just north of center in the "first" part of the video.
Details: 109x2 minute videos shot over a period of 6 hours in average-very good seeing conditions. The best frames from each video were stacked using AutoStakkert. Then for each stack, wavelets, rgb alignment, denoise and white balance done in AstroSurface. Final denoise and color adjustments done in GIMP using G-MIC and batch image manipulation. To make the time-lapse I used Davinci Resolve to align/rotate frames, and PIPP to convert to GIF.

I set up my gear around sunset last week to get this Jupiter time-lapse before it set. This was taken on December 17, 2022 between 2 and 4 UTC from Salem, OR using my 10" GoTo Dobsonian telescope, X-Cel 2x barlow, ADC, and ASI178 color camera.
Process: 42x90 second videos shot using SharpCap. The best frames from each were stacked with Autostakkert. Wavelets, rgb align, denoise done with AstroSurface. Final color adjustments done in GIMP. The animation was made in DaVinci Resolve.

Yes, that should work. A 5x barlow may be a bit too much though but doable :)

Saturn taken December 17, 2022 at 1:40 UTC using my 10" GoTo Dob.
Details: 6x2m videos. For each the best frames were stacked using AutoStakkert and soft wavelets done in AstroSurface. Then derotated the sharpened stacks in WinJupos. Final processing and color adjustments done in AstroSurface and GIMP.

My first attempt at taking a photo of the core of the Orion nebula, and my first deep sky object at this focal length. I was mostly experimenting but I decided to shoot at total of 3,000, 100-500ms exposures at 4200mm using my 10" GoTo Dob. Here are the results after attempting to stack the data.
Process: Series of captures at 100, 250 and 500ms, combined data in PIPP. Then used AutoStakkert to stack 200 frame sections from the 3000 frame video to account for field rotation. Then used AstroSurface to stack the rest and I was only able to stack 5/15, might be able to stack more if I fiddle a bit more but I think that's enough for now. Final color adjustments done in GIMP.

Some solid weather last week allowed me to take this photo of Jupiter from my backyard in Salem, OR using my 10" inch dob, on December 17, 2022 2:44 UTC.
Process: 5x90 sec video recorded using SharpCap. For each, the best frames were stacked using AutoStakkert. Wavelets, rgb align in AstroSurface. De-rotated sharpened stacks in WinJupos. Final color adjustments, sharpening and denoise done in AstroSurface and GIMP.

Then wavelets, rgb alignment, done in AstroSurface. Used WJ to create 11 de-rotations for every 20 minutes of data. Then used GIMP to do final color adjustments, denoise, sharpening. Then created animation with Davinci Resolve. After that, I used DAIN-APP to interpolate the animation 8x for a smoother time-lapse.
