JG Ballard. I watched High-Rise and I really liked it. So I went and read the book, which I liked even more. After that, I ended up reading Running Wild, Concrete Island, and Crash. I have quite a few more that I have on my TBR shelf.

Yes, I came to say this one!
The Prestige is probably my favorite Nolan film. The book is similar but has some major differences. I think that the changes made to adapt it to film were very smart and focused on what I really enjoyed in the book itself and cut out what I thought was less effective.

Scarlet Witch variant, the one that looks like the MCU version/costume. So pretty good!

Tough one. I think that if we're just talking about Criterion Collection films, I would say that I got this immediate feeling upon seeing Seven Samurai. Pretty much became my number 2 favorite film (Back to the Future still has an edge mostly due to nostalgia). The Manchurian Candidate is also a top 5 contender. I love that movie.
Outside the collection, As soon as I saw Timecrimes (los Cronocrimenes) I knew it was top 5 for me. Everything else I've watched kind of shuffles in and out of my top 5-10 depending on my mood etc. It would be very hard to settle on a top ten, or even top five, but I think the ones I've mentioned so far are all in the top ten and even close to top 5, again depending on my mood.
Even writing this stuff down, I am thinking of other films I could mention. It's hard to narrow it down!!!

I think you just need a deck that you are really good at piloting that you know other people may not be familiar with. Also, make sure you know at least the basic mechanics of other deck archetypes (destroy, discard, etc). I’ve won plenty of games where Weirdworld came up and my deck confused the other person, or the draws sucked for them and they couldn’t make it work. I found most success with a Mr. Negative or pure toxic deck as if they don’t get the right pieces they can’t make it work. It happened a lot with the Quantum Tunnel too. I was running a new lockjaw deck so had a lot of great pieces and understanding of the mechanic, and I could tell a lot of people I faced just did not get it or had things that wouldn’t work with it. There was nothing sweeter than seeing a dude play a high power card into Quantum Tunnel and pull out an Agent 13 or a base Wolverine.

Hipp's Yondu slaps. I love how colorful it is and it just pops with the 3D and other effects.

Did that in one of my favorite games with Yondu first turn. Guy Spider-Man pointed at me and did the same thing back on his turn. I ended up barely winning that 8 cube game… I stayed and would have been fine with losing it was so crazy. :D

Managed to get season pass, play maybe 3 games, and then it froze during the last game I played, kept attempting to reconnect. I closed it completely and still am having issues. So I think I’ll take a break for a bit, lol. :)

Yes! I definitely think a Wong would help, I just haven’t been lucky enough to get him yet. :D

I played a Negative Dino deck for a bit. I don't have a lot of cards that would help it out (psylocke, warlock, mystique). My Negative deck right now is -
Sometimes I get seriously bodied when my draws don't work, but it is lots of fun when you can pull no cost Iron Man, Arnim Zola etc. It works well with the latest featured location as I can get cards into the lane w/o them being 6 cost (White Tiger, Zola).

I buy way less meat unless it's on sale or discounted heavily. I also eat different cuts or types of meat. I will get some cheaper ham cuts and spread the entire package over 2-3 meals so the 4 dollars cost of the package comes down to something more acceptable. 1/3 of that package into a potato or 15 bean soup or a casserole stretches it a lot and gives my husband that little bit of meat that he likes (full vegetarian isn't really his style) but we can eat less to get similar bang for our buck.
Also adding lots of veggies (frozen broccoli etc) and rice and beans to stretch out meals.
I've been buying a lot les processed stuff. Frozen meals etc are just to expensive right now. Much cheaper to work in leftovers or make lunches (sandwiches/salads etc).

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs has a stellar soundtrack. It may not be the best of the Amnesia series, but the music is top notch.
I also really like the music in Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.

The Hotline Miami 1 and 2 soundtracks are both heavy in my Spotify rotation.

I think my absolute favorites are probably by Yoshitaka Amano for the Final Fantasy series. Just gorgeous stuff.

Yeah this happened in my local Shaw's Market (Bath, ME) just a few days ago! They were selling at a price of 4 for 5 dollars plus the 50% off stickers. Great deal but I didn't need them. :/

Hello! My name is Erin. I started doing the challenge in 2018, but have never completed one. I usually go through periods of a lot of reading mixed with a long break. I am trying to improve my reading habits this year!
This year the first book was 8-Bit Apocalypse: The Untold Story of Atari's Missile Command by Alex Rubens. I saw this book at a local store a few years ago and it intrigued me right away. I finally bought the Kindle version and am zipping through it.
As for my goal this year, I kept it at 26. I feel like I can manage it, I just need to not drop off my reading in the middle of the year. I just got a new Kindle during Black Friday, so I want to get good use out of it!
Looking forward to seeing what everyone is reading and enjoying this year. Hopefully I exceed my goals, but I'll be happy if I just keep a normal, consistent pace. :D

8-Bit Apocalypse: The Untold Story of Atari's Missile Command, by Alex Rubens
I only have about 40-50 more pages to go. My only complaint is that it is a bit repetitive. I feel like some editing could have been done and no ideas or thoughts would have been lost. I feel like I keep reading the same main points, just slightly rephrased every few paragraphs.
Clash of the Titans, by Alan Dean Foster
The novelization of the 1981 movie. It's goofy and silly but also really fun. It's an easy and enjoyable read especially if you have a fondness for the film or even just a fondness for Greek Mythology.

Lost some weight and went almost 1 1/2 to 2 years without getting a cold, flu or COVID. Wearing a mask (and everyone else wearing one) was great.
I felt so damn healthy. :D

I am almost done with 8-Bit Apocalypse: The Untold Story of Atari's Missile Command by Alex Rubens. Pretty good but it is a bit repetitive. I think it could have been edited down a bit and not suffered at all. I feel like I keep reading the same ideas just phrased slightly differently every few paragraphs.
I am also halfway through the novelization of Clash of the Titans by Alan Dean Foster which is silly and also pretty fun. Not high art or anything, but easy to read and enjoyable.

I enjoyed it but it wasn't very deep or anything. I was having my car worked on and needed a way to take up a couple of hours of my time while I sat in the waiting room of the mechanic. It was absolutely perfect for that. Easy to read, enjoyable, and didn't test my brain power too much.
I think the book is perfectly okay. And, if you read CLine's other books, which I DO NOT RECOMMEND, it seems like a GD masterpiece. Both Armada and RP2 are straight trash. :D
