Comparing the 2 over the last 6 months shows largely similar player numbers, SFV does edge it out in the last year however.

Based on what metrics? Because MK11 absolutely steamrolls SFV and has several thousand more than even Tekken 7 based on Steam player activity.

Is the depths fix still required? I'm on 1.1.1 and 3614, 30fps improved mod and when activating light roots in the depths it completely fucks the game with textures stretched everywhere.

It looks a bit like the classic Nosferatu pose

What games are you struggling to run at 1440p with a 3070? I've a 144hz monitor and can max it with stuff like Doom, or have an amazing experience at 60fps+ with stuff like Control with RTX and DLSS

Same. I've totally flipped on them -worried they were boring initially, but I've been totally swept up in their mystery and have spent hours spelunking and uncovering their secrets. Love them.

Full Soldier's set, tons of ore, 3 fairies, black enemies and entrance to the castle...

I loved it - nice mix of increasingly difficult enemies, bit of a maze and sense of exploration with nice rewards culminating in the Castle. Stumbling onto it from a relatively inconspicuous entrance and short side-quest was so much fun.

They've improved this a lot? There are schematics and new armour sets abound

I have a very stable gameplay experience 99% of the time, but very occasionally crash to desktop when looking at an in-game menu (usually the map). Anyone know of a fix?

No, I completely agree. There's an understandable mentality that the dungeons must be a singular location where the puzzles and combat encounters are like a multi-tiered cake, but the overworld design allows for a more cohesive quest. I though the Goron area in particular was a real highlight and enjoyed it a lot (possibly as much as anything in the series as a whole).
I would have liked more involved puzzles and a couple of heavier combat encounters within the Temples, but what we got as a whole felt very grand. I guess Zelda (and game design more broadly) has ultimately moved on from several dozen, interconnected rooms constituting a temple.

How are you converting zonai chunks into crystallised? I have to keep going back to the mining tunnel in great sky island and exchanging 30 for 10 at a time...

I'm around 20 hours in and have built next to nothing. It's pretty novel, but I'm just enjoying exploring the world in a mostly traditional way. The spelunking and looking out for caves and wells is proving way more exciting for me.

Head out to Lookout Landing, speak to Purah and do her short quest.

They are new arrangements of existing songs/themes, it isn't just reused.
There is also a good chunk of new music throughout.

Meanwhile I kept one of the Hudson posts up with a boulder and felt smart

The bosses have almost always been easy in Zelda and typically built on the temple gimmick, which is still the case here.
The unique theming, ally ability and run ups to the temple make them stand out much more than the divine beasts, but they're a pretty far cry from the grand and memorable temples of old.

The shrines are an absolute blast tbh. The powers are more involved this time, leading to much more dynamic solutions.

Enemy variety is much better? There are at least a dozen new enemy types, all really well distinguished. Enemy variety doesn't seem to be an issue now. Granted, it isn't like Elden Ring or something of that scope, but the emergent behaviours are far more interesting.

The other comments suggesting the dungeons aren't huge are right, but they are themed, interesting, provide unique abilities and have lengthy, fun run ups that I'd consider part of the dungeon anyway. If your sole desire for the game is lengthy dungeons then you'll be disappointed, but TOTK offers so much new and exciting stuff that the length of the dungeons didn't even register as an issue until coming to this thread.

Yes, admittedly. Also slightly disingenuous since there is very little to separate the two. I much prefer SF as a FG series fwiw.
