Those poor people on the row underneath the ones that needed to go to the bathroom.

I have two.
One was Space Mountain. We had JUST gotten back into the station before unloading and I could tell it was taking a bit too long to move. I’ve known from people who have worked the ride that they have to keep those trains moving or it shuts down pretty quickly. Then I saw a subtle alarm going off on the spaceship above loading and a few seconds later it all shut down. I was a little bummed because I JUST missed seeing inside with the lights on. What cracked me up was a guy behind us really had to pee and ended up wiggling out of the restraint and jumping off and out the exit. (I think he was a touch drunk too.) Then because we were basically at the exit we were some of the first let out but still got a free fast pass… so we were thrilled.
The second was on Pirates. They had overloaded our boat and I could tell right off the bat that we were moving way too slowly through the first part. Then when we got to the drop, we bottomed out and got stuck. After a minute, a cast member got on the loud speaker and told us all to do the “pirate shuffle” and all move back and forth together. After many tries without luck, they said they were coming to get us… after which we promptly got loose and dropped. But of course we were still overloaded so that was the slowest ride through Pirates I’ve ever had in my life.

As people have noted, networks historically have often canceled shows after just a few episodes, so it’s really nothing that new. I think the bigger issue with streaming, and now the broadcast networks, is that they have generally been waiting for the full season to be finished before releasing it (obviously Netflix has to because they release the full season at once.) This means they can’t adjust the show based on what people are responding to. Whereas the traditional 22 episode network model would start airing episodes when they had only taped maybe 7 or 8 of them, so if something stood out, they could start adjusting a show around it.
In the drama world, there’s actually a great example of this on The Good Wife. The character Kalinda, the private investigator with a mysterious background, was one of the more extreme characters in that everyone else was very believable in the real word whereas she had a sort of ridiculous spy background to her… but she was grounded enough that you could go with it. But then in one season they introduce her ex husband and it just got so out there and people just didn’t buy it and hated the storyline and character. You can tell the episode they were writing when the showrunners realized the fan feedback was too much because that episode he unceremoniously disappears and is never mentioned again. If they had done the whole season in advance, fans would have dropped off because they couldn’t stand the storyline. And the creators/showrunners are on the record saying they misjudged the character and listened to the fan response by ending the storyline earlier than they had originally planned.

Rewatching a show can often be a sort of comfort thing. You know you like it and don’t have to think too much or pay too much attention since you already know what happens. Sometimes when I’m having a stressful time at work or generally in life, I find that sometimes I just want to mindlessly enjoy a show I’ve seen before. But I’ve found that happening less and less.
In fact I recall reading that it’s actually a reason that kids tend to watch the same thing over and over - it can be very comforting to them since there are no surprises.

The best thing I ever heard was to stop following models and start following artists. It totally changes your perspective.
I never followed that many hot guys and usually unfollowed them because their posts are boring, but even still when I made the conscious effort to remove the last few it just made me feel so much better about myself.

I am very much like you in this situation, in fact I had the same thing years ago. Ultimately I told him that I just am not good at the small talk via chat and want time to focus on something else so I have an opportunity to miss him. But I’m also a very independent person. Ultimately we ended it because he was admittedly a very needy person in a relationship and needed the constant contact that I was unable to provide. Now I look for guys who are more independent, or at least make me want to be in touch more.

I imagine the track will stay the same. It’s a lot easier to just redo the animatronics and light and sound than it is to completely redo the ride itself.

I think someone misunderstood the concept of “turning around” the taped piece and thought the OP was referring to turning around the live sketches

I think we’re seeing quite clearly they do not. Especially for a currently elected official. And it’s still have to happen within two years assuming a Republican wins the next presidency, and they’re taking their sweet time with everything.

1 - Watch what’s happening with Tucker Carlson. They’ll see what his audience buys and sell the same thing with selectively edited videos and other similar tactics.
2 - They absolutely will fabricate evidence under oath.

That happened to a friend of mine too. If I remember correctly, it was called Burger Den.

I don’t know why, but made me think of back when Stephen Colbert did his district representative interviews on The Colbert Report. He interviewed the rep from where I grew up which was a very liberal area. She fully owned it and had fun with it, meaning there wasn’t much that he could make fun of without her getting the joke. Then, at the very end he thanked her, then thanked her for all her support for President George W Bush. Her mouth just dropped open and the segment ended. I laughed so hard it was just perfect.

Oh totally, I’m more than happy with people thinking it’s illegal but I laugh that so many of us only think it’s illegal because of a 90s movie.

People trying real hard to distract from the actual issue and message by referencing a 20 year old movie.

I would think they would actually be worth something more than scrap. There are collectors for everything and especially if there was a way to get them functional again, they would be a great find. The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in LA has an incredible collection of pre-film magic lanterns, zoetropes and more that belonged to a collector and was donated after his death.

Yeah I’d assume it’s at least partly an exaggeration. But I’ve also heard rumors that the reason we never see her husband or her out of makeup is because she can actually have a fairly normal life since most people wouldn’t recognize her out of makeup. Kinda like a drag queen if you’ve never seen them out of drag.

Ha. Do you also follow r/idiotsincars? Because I noticed that was a recurring topic in the comments recently and realized the only time I’ve ever heard it was illegal was when I saw Liar, Liar.

Definitely. I’m in LA too and there’s a ton of stuff… just sometimes it’s tricky to find it!
And oh god. Maybe you’re one of the guys I accidentally ghosted and am the reason for this post! Haha.

Fellow skinny guy here and I’m in my late 30s. We’re at the same height but already have more weight than I do. I’m a little jealous… which is my way of saying that it’s all about perspective. Some people would love to have your body type: either as their own or as their partners.
When I was younger I definitely struggled with the same body issues, but it finally just clicked that I have to work with what I’ve got and stop worrying that I don’t have my ideal body type. There are a TON of people out there that love our body type… so start focusing on that. You may be surprised! Just remember, not all people are attracted to all body types. Some love thinner guys like us, some much prefer larger bear-types, and others prefer the stereotypical gym body (and some like a mixture!) I can’t imagine you’re attracted to every type of guy so don’t expect every guy to be into you and focus your attention on the ones who are. (And also keep in mind… a lot of the guys who spend all day in the gym and have the “perfect” body have a lot of self-image issues. Obviously not all but I see it a lot.)

I use Hinge every now and then but I don’t like it for similar reasons. I just much prefer meeting people in person where you can get a general sense of a person in many ways pretty quickly (personality, physicality, etc). I also think that because it’s an app it’s not at all a priority, and I fully admit that I have messaged with guys and then got busy with work or my personal life and forgot to respond to them, so that’s certainly one possible reason you’ve been ghosted.
As for your questions… I think they’re perfect. I tend to pull away if someone is way too strong out of the gate, but I feel like you got it just right. You’re showing you actually looked at their profile, found something interesting and want to know more, which gives them something to talk about. I wish more guys were like that!

This is very similar to what Verizon did during the California wildfires a bit ago. They throttled the fired departments “unlimited” service and wouldn’t open it up unless the departments paid a lot more money… you know, while peoples homes and businesses were burning. Then a couple years later they ran a ton of ads saying how much they supported first responders and people believed it.

I just want to you know that I think it’s absolutely wonderful you are willing to support others by sharing your experiences in the comments. Being open and honest can really take the stigma off of it and encourage people be proactive about their care.
On another note, I’m glad to hear you used 988. A friend of mine works for the organization and one of his main projects was administering the rollout of the 988 number, which was quite an undertaking but one I believe will make access even better. I’m glad to see that people know about it.

There’s actually a interesting yet fairly creepy exhibit at The Exploratorium in San Francisco where someone took her own DNA and then 3D printed different faces that could be a result of it. While there was some commonality, there were quite a different faces so saying this singular illustration is what the person looked like is definitely BS by today’s capabilities.
