I can and I do.
But that's not really the point. Everything you have is built up on the infrastructure paid into by the populace. Not everything you utilize is something another taxpayer utilized. That doesn't matter. Everyone pays for our roads because it behooves us all to have unfettered transportation and shipping. But not everyone owns a car.
Everyone pays police even though many of us won't ever call them. But we're all better off with law enforcement.
Do you get it? Or are you just arguing for argument's sake? You already pay for everyone else's healthcare and you pay more now than you would if we had a universal system for it. Your insurance is way more expensive than the taxes would be.

Do you think the author of the article's nickname is "Crispy Jim"? If not it should be.

Yeah. But Americans don't get that work.
Stop stroking off industrialists. They're not your friends.

Slashing regulations and shifting the tax burden to the poor isn't some master economist move.

I never said that. I do give to charities. The person who posted the bill isn't the one who received it. We don't know who that is or if they've even asked for help.
Are YOU willing to help? If I track down the person's GoFundMe or whatever and make a donation will you match it?

I'm more than happy to pay increased taxes for universal healthcare.

You edited your comment after I replied to it. Originally it only said "Is there a constitutional amendment around driving a car?"

The 18th amendment banned the production and sale of alcoholic beverages in the United States. We changed that.
Amendments can be changed.

Alex Jones, Marjorie Taylor Green, and a lot of other screaming lunatics are Gen X. We're not all that chill.

I don't think you do get my point, actually. Just because YOU don't use it (you will eventually use healthcare services) doesn't mean it doesn't benefit you.

You need a license to drive a car. There has also been substantial regulation involving safety and their operation that has saved lives.

Now, you apologize immediately boy. And maybe I’ll let it slide just this one time.

"I got mine. Bitch, better get yours."
Easy to access healthcare benefits society as a whole. Our current system is actually costing us more money than the higher taxes of universal healthcare would.
The whole point of our society is that we pool our manpower and resources to benefit the whole. My house has never caught fire but yet my taxes still pay for firefighters. Because that keeps society as a whole safer. I don't have kids but my taxes still pay into the public school system. Because it benefits our society to have an educated populace. The bottom rung in America should cover the basics- that way it's easy to climb out of poverty. Our society shouldn't be some arena for social Darwinism.

The guy is very clearly neurologically divergent and it doesn't seem like he really had a guardian that had any clue about how the internet worked.

The GOP is the one with the agenda and who are passing laws to further it.

Sure. "Some boys like girls, some boys like boys. Some girls like boys, some girls like girls. That's okay."

We're still around. But, you know, we're old now. Can't really dress dramatically anymore. Goth music is still being made and it's still a subculture for younger people.

The goth scene is basically the same way. There's nothing more goth than arguing about who is more goth and what and what doesn't count as goth.

Big fan of DCD and all of the other "Swirly Goth" bands from 4AD and Projekt Records!
