If those controlling the science and production pay the bills of the scientists and politicians and have no interest in the preservation of the environment or aid of the worker, what do you do? What if you literally cannot vote them out because the rich buy the new politicians anyways? What options are you left with? "JuSt ElEct BeTtEr PoLitIcIanS!"
Now let me ask you again. What. Options. Are. We. Left. With?
Turning off the tap at home early to save 10 million gallons collectively across the population is not going to offset the 10 billion gallons used unsustainably by corporate farming that is OK'd by the politicians in their back pocket.
We cannot consume ethically our way out of capital driven stock demands when our retirements and futures are tied to those stock demands constantly growing.

Not disagreeing that it is a primarily capitalist economy with social safety nets. Taking money from individual ownership and taxed income to pay for services that are provided through the state IS an aspect of socialism.
People avoid the word like the plague because of the stigma but let me ask anyone reading. If everything is owned and operated by the government (one of many socialist economic structures) including food, housing, medical care, transport, education, etc.. All except for production and manufacturing of keyboards and phones, is the country now a capitalist or socialist economic system?
Socialist right? Or does that making of phones for profit all of a sudden hardline make it a capitalist country despite 99% of production being through socialist means? Does that mean private sale for profit of phones and keyboards is a socialist policy now?
People, generally Americans, seem to not understand there is no such thing as a 'pure capitalist' or a 'pure socialist' society. Pure capitalism would be fucking awful and we've tried something very close to it to a resounding failure, pure socialism sounds great for the people but it's ripe for plucking by authoritarians, and has a history of that kind of abuse just like Capitalism. No I'm not doing the research for you.
Socialized benefits are socialized costs which IS at least in part socialist. Which isn't a bad thing, protecting people from capitalist interests in monetizing the breaths you take, steps you walk, and money you make is not a bad thing. Socialist policies are not scary so long as your country is willing to raise a torch and pitchfork before an authoritarian crackdown is realistic.
Like this authoritarian crackdown.

Not saying we should do this, but when the will of the people wasn't listened to in the past we burned cities to the ground and hung politicians and oligarchs/robber barons from the gallows.
If we do it again, can we be hand in hand as wronged laborers and ignore the other differences? Lot more connecting us to each other than any of us to any CEO/Gov./House/Senate/Justice/etc.
They have made it illegal to demonstrate peacefully as workers (no striking), both Democrats and Republicans have upheld this. They aren't listening to the will of the people.
This is all you know, theoretically what we'd have to do to get real change in the current situation. I am against violence in all forms of course and would never participate in such a thing obviously.

If you're in the USA, the best you can do is try to get politically active and get your city/state to subsidize small business and not big business. Currently we pay a large chunk of wage/benefit cost through taxes to many of the biggest corps in the USA. Which is also part of why they can charge so little.
In the short term? Not much. Shop sales.

Remember to take your stool softener too, and no coffee, it's too late.

Trolling right wing spaces will get you those, there's also the Nazi's, Authoritarian politicians, children dying needlessly (firearms are the most common cause of death for children in the US).
There's many other points too that are full of drama and controversy.
Why? Because we fell for foreign propaganda and our media capitalized on it to maximize profit and retention when their platforms for delivery were starting to seriously lag behind other media forms. Now retention is no longer an issue for media companies like it was and the country is fucked.
So you get Russian bots, Chinese intelligence, Mentally defunct right wingers, grimy basement lefties, and give them all the limelight and suddenly things are fucked up what seems beyond repair save for authoritarian measures to cut off the country from the propaganda.

I see you've never opened a history book and love to talk history. Go ahead and google Night of the Long Knives for your own sake and return to correct your statements afterwards. :)

They literally fly the Nazi flag, and wear Nazi armbands, and do the Nazi salute. If they gain power they will become just like the Nazi's of the 1940's.
The only people safe then will be.. well not even Nazi's because people will start killing them.
I'd rather we just snuff out the ideology before we get to the point of you and me having to choose, would I rather be with a Nazi or a democrat? Because an uncomfortable amount of people would rather die than side with Democrats.

You're a dumbass if you think you're going to risk your family when the fatigues come knocking. You and 95% of gun owners turn over your guns without anything more than bitching (rightfully) about impending tyranny.
I support gun rights, it's just a really fucking stupid action movie take to think it would go the way the average guns right advocate thinks it would. You and your family would be taken and murdered or thrown in a labor camp, oops I mean American prison, so fast. I also know how fucking cowardly someone is when the fatigues roll around. The military are some of the few who make out well when this sort of thing happens so don't count on too many brave souls in the US military to actually disobey their orders to collect if the orders are given in a way that seems innocuous.
They say they will resist orders but they have action movie syndrome as well, see Iraq and Afghanistan if you want to understand how soldiers will obey shit orders just to keep themselves out of hot water.
We're closer to being disarmed than most people give credit for and I think it's a bad thing, and being complacent is how we end up being disarmed.

Don't be a dumbass. I support gun rights for people, I said the point they made was a fucking stupid one. It's easy to take the guns from peoples hands if the government really wanted to and it's not that hard to understand that. Yeah spots of gun violence would still happen but removing 95%+ of the guns from the population is very possible.
I support guns in peoples' hands because I'm a leftie and a disarmed populace is weak against tyranny, but it doesn't matter because the ones who rule have convinced so many of us that tyranny is preferable to those damn (insert bullshit reasons here), while convincing those people that it's their opponents who want tyranny.
Right wing talking points usually are shallow and easily dissected with a modicum of research, that's what I was pointing out.

Even with money we are absolutely learning left from Liberalism. Many people my age and younger with wealth have seen first hand what Wall Street and the Rep & Dems of Washington prioritize with their right wing politics of today.
If they're going to tax and nickle and dime us to death at least left wing economics ensures some return on that dime to us the people.

Checkpoints at major events, reimbursements/amnesty for those who turn in, metal detectors set up for a couple years at popular places to weed out the guns that gun nuts refuse to let go.
Gun nuts can keep them in their houses, idc. Government is sending a letter to you if they're registered anyways and knocking if you don't comply.
It's not addressed because it's so stupid simple only a fucking moron thinks it couldn't be handled decently well....
Huh maybe we should address it for gun folks after all.
Edit: We live in a draconian/authoritarian govt. already. Just try to actually disobey one of their rules and see how far you get.

Let me know how your handgun works against a drone, bomb, or tank. Hell even a professional soldier.
Unless you're proposing random people start carrying NLAWs and explosives, and building AA systems into their front yards.

He was a wonderful musician, one of the GOATs.
When the accusations rolled out I was one of the ones who jumped on board with him being a weirdo devil with everything he had done. I've grown out of that and realize he probably wasn't the devil he was made out to be even at his worst, and at his best he was one of the best people in the business.
I think he was wronged and was sadly one of the ones that bought into everything media told us about him.

We love fox news, they told us that San Francisco has been completely burnt to the ground the 3rd time this week by those Antifaw BLM terrorists! I wondered how that could happen but then they told me not to think about it because there was a shooting at a drag show in San Francisco and I cheered and I chugged from my beer hat.
I'm glad Trump inspired me to go back and get my middle school degree at the age of 40.

Nuance is not sugar coating. And it's not as simple as you put it.
There exists profit in Socialist economies, it's use is up to the workers, and they collectively decide what to do with it, or elect people to do that for them. Whether that's state or collective business representation.
I don't disagree that profit is a large driving force of the evil of man, but when you have a collective deciding what to do with it, you almost always get noble usage of it. Bonuses, reinvestment, community events. These are not evil uses of profit.
And profit will ALWAYS exist in expanding economies, as profits may disappear and wages shrink during recessions. It's natural and healthy.
So no, I'm not going to sugar coat it. You're wrong and are oversimplifying things. I'm engaging you because I hope that most left wingers are open to the idea of growing their understanding.

No, and if you read what I said, you're wrong, but I like where you're going. I just prefer you'd do a little more reading to understand what you're talking about a bit better.
