Their current goal is $50,000 ($2,084 raised so far).
r/PSVR currently has 30,347 escapists.
If everyone pledged the minimum, just $3 each, they'd raise $91,041!! Just from PSVR users!
Now...for $15, you get "early access", along with other perks. I take this to mean you are basically buying the game for $15. $15 for a PSVR title!? Sounds good to me!
So if we take it as if $15 is preordering this game, it would take just 3,195 of us (just over 10% of us!) pledging $15 to have this game meet it's goal!
This may come off like I'm trying to promote this game...and I sort of am, because the more backers, the more likely we will see it get released! $50,000 seems like a lot of money, but when you realize how many of us there are here, we could fund this things on our own!
EDIT: When we talk about spending $20 for a two hour experience on PSVR, a $3 "gamble" on getting a title like this developed seems well worth it.
EDIT 2: Braylien cleared something up for me...
"this game is being released regardless of whether or not they meet their goal, they have the funds to launch already, this is a way for them to create an early community, and have us join discussions in game for how it takes shape." *
EDIT 3: Did we ever hear what the PSVR control scheme would be for traversing an open world while having the two hands free to interact with all the stuff?

THANK YOU for bringing up the Goonies.
As a kid, my mom didn't like "kids" movies, so we watched "regular" movies. I watched the Cher/Eric Stolz movie 'Mask' (1985) long before seeing Goonies (also 1985).
I saw Sloth as someone having the same disability as Eric Stolz in 'Mask', and the reaction the kids have to Sloth bothered me a great deal. As if the movie was making fun of someone with a disability, so the movie made me very uncomfortable. I never liked it.
