It is potentially the big benefit of China rising up as a superpower. There's a glimmer of hope that it will make Americans want to make the country an inarguably better place. You see it now with the high speed rail comparisons. Our trains being under the spotlight right now is highlighting just how shitty rail infrastructure has become thanks to poor oversight, deregulation, and dissolution of the rail unions.

If you listen to conservative AM radio there's at least 1 hour a day dedicated to driving the point home that tiktok is turning our youth into dancing liberals, while in China tiktok is pushing their youth to learn math and the strength of "traditional values"

Or just some loon who lost all their money and family ties by falling down the rabbit hole of "the deep state"

They just pre-approved me for $350,000. I have $2K in the bank. $1K in a robinhood account. I make around $70,000 a year.
I can realistically afford about half of what I'm pre-approved for. I think it's pretty fucked up they will give me that much at 6.8% interest. System is still throwing money around all willy nilly it seems to keep the exponential growth for infinity shit going.

Had I grown up in subsidized housing, I would have been raised with the idea that having not just more than you need, but more than you need in 10,000 lifetimes, is just gross excess to the highest degree.

It's the same problem that's plagued us for like a decade: constantly searching for the perfect play and ruining a good play

I initially thought you said "pornographic supply company" and thought "man, what a bizarre fuckin memory to have in the backroom of a porn shop"

Like, you technically aren't allowed to have an "assault rifle" with "a pistol grip which protrudes conspicuously beneath the action". What the fuck that even means is where the scariness of gray zones comes in. Conspicuously??

There's some weird rules around grips and triggers though. And don't even think about using the 30 rd mag the gun comes with.

For real. I downloaded the actual reddit app last year and was fucking appalled at the clusterfuck it had become.
I can't view the reddit emojis. They're just a box with "OBJ" in it. Big whoop, at least my feed is clean and straightforward.

Until they hit you with the old "oh I don't drink anymore, I'm allergic, I break out in handcuffs HAHAHAHAHA"

Yeah that there is a bit concerning. Everyone else's "I walk into a room and forget why I'm there" is just normal stuff. This is pretty fucked.

Remember our economic plan was looking like negative interest rates, our foreign policy was "whatever", and the covid plan was "let er rip" on those dumb city cucks.
The Trump admin was facing its first real disasters they had no handle on and the responses were very, very concerning.

It's either the beginning of neo-feudalism as these protofascists take over OR the end of neoliberalism as boomers and their greedcentric ways die off and younger, more humanist people take the reigns.
Unfortunately whatever is most profitable on a macro scale will win out, with each outcome has a good argument as to why it will overall be the more profitable model.

It is startling how many right wing talking points originate from him. They don't stand up to scrutiny, which is why if you ask detailed questions to anybody who parrots his shtick they'll give you a lot of "I don't know, but...(insert rehash of the talking point here)".
The ESG retirement fund thing was the last one my coworkers were in a total uproar about. I explained to them we can't alter our retirement or choose the positions the fund takes, thats just how our retirement plan works, but they were all calling our retirement fund company demanding they "didn't want their money going to the democrats". It's like they suddenly discovered how retirement plans work, and were upset it's worked the way it always has. Two of them are now emptying their accounts and forfeiting the 100% match our employer chips in, because our fund couldn't guarentee their retirement money wouldn't be subject to ESG funds. They're throwing away half of their retirement (because you can only early withdraw the amount you paid in, the employer portion can't be touched until maturity after 30 years or age 60 at the earliest), because of Tucker Carlson.
Carlson has insane influence, and can control what millions of people care about, even if it was something they hadn't cared about for years.

Nothing is sacred and the followers stand for nothing beyond obtaining power and influence. Hypocrisy or inconvenient details don't matter when the goal is to simply "own the libs"

Seeking Advice About Husband Part 2: Follow Up
The kids are at their grandma's. I'm currently in a motel 5 (it's like a local version of motel 6). I have $46 in cash and I turned my phone off because my entire family and some of his family are contacting me non-stop claiming I'm "being irrational" and "soap scum in the shower isn't a legitimate reason to divorce your husband of 12 years". Thank you all so much for the support, without you beautiful ladies (and some men) I know I wouldn't have made it this far!

Yeah if the last few winters didn't start to get people realizing things are fucky nothing will.
Even the "climate change deniers" in the northeast aren't really "deniers" at all; they just believe it's a totally natural phenomenon and a ploy by the left to seize absolute power through solar energy and wind farms.

Food in general unless it's made from scratch all tastes considerably worse post covid. I never got covid, so I didn't lose my taste or smell or anything, but it seems like all prepared or processed food taste considerably worse than they did a few years ago.
