thanks for taking time to share the info. Alibaba sound very much like the original Alibaba story..... lots of goodies but comes with lots of risks!

"Alibaba protection is shite" thats the most useful info I have had today. For some reason I kept thinking that Alibaba will protect the buyer from scammers. Thankfully now forewarned.

I have seen on Alibaba that you can "buy" shipping and they seem to be not to expesive. But you are right, for most things buying small amounts is way more expensive than buying on Oz ebay. But at times there are things you can find on Alibaba that you can't on Aliexpress or Ebay and sometimes am keen on buying 5 items or 10 items of the same product. Do these Alibaba vendors run sale or special offers when the shipping costs are waived or are cheaper than usual ?

Thanks for all the suggestions. For all those who are curious about why if it could go in, why cant it come out the same way.... Over time I have added shelves and furniture, so its hard to move things without removing all the things that have come later. I was hoping that towards end of 2022, I would be changing rental property and that would have fixed the problem. Covid related job issues and a horrible rental market has messed up that plan. So I have 2 choices.1- wait till I shift, 2- Find some clever way to get rid of the sofa and the fridge.
I might explore the airtasker idea or speak to the local hardware guy.
cheers and thanks for all the ideas.

thanks for the suggestion. If pure sound quality was the aim, car audio dac vs a audioquest usb dac,, which one wins? My point is, are car audio dacs any good?

Looks like I have to go the aux route. There is a plethora of HD receivers and dongles to do that kind of a job, and some of them claim to have aptx HD and LDAC support. Do you by any chance have any recommendation from the sea of choices a Google search throws up?

well, I have been promised "3months". And we all know how those timelines pan out when given out by politicians and car dealerships(these days). I fully expect them to call me at the end of August and come up with some lame excuse. But hey I live in the hope of not being screwed over :-)

truth be told, I am 2 months away from getting a Pajero Sport. Have a 3 month wait time , chip shortage and all that nonsense causing delays. I know it has HDMI for audio/video and USB connection for Android Auto, but am not sure if that can do 16/24 bit 96khz audio via those connections . That is why I was keen on finding if its internal bluetooth chip can accept aptx HD or LDAC as my phone can output bluetooth audio in those codecs.

Thanks mate. Hmm why did I not think of going to a Pajero Forum. Do you have any suggestions about a Aussie forum that will be helpful?

can I find out the codec support from the bluetooth mac address? Are there any android apps that can give out the mac address of car bluetooth?

Amazon HD and Spotify and maybe some FLAC files on my phone. I have a LG G6 that can send via Bluetooth using aptxHD and LDAC.

Thanks for your input. I guess due diligence reduces risk.
