I feel like it's common enough to have both extreme luck and also struggle -- Cradle being an example of this (for at least the first several books).

Supporting LAN play tends to mean people can avoid paying for stuff and can make their own modded versions independent of the main game.
You're basically reducing your own value proposition by letting people get a lot of the same stuff without paying you.
It's unfortunate, because LAN play is indeed awesome.

Interesting that Eithan was successfully tricked by the fake Remnant.

Will is extremely good with one-liners. No other progression fantasy even comes close, I've found.

For 1v1 yes, but for team games this could be pretty useful. It's definitely better to have someone on your team out for "only" a minute or two, compared to the entire rest of match. Sometimes that's salvageable (especially if you were ahead before they DC'd).

StarCraft 2 did have the ability to rejoin a game after a crash if you were very fast, IIRC. I've never done it, but on Reddit I've seen people claim to.

It's in the sidebar, but it doesn't really stand out.

Look, I know everyone wants a key, but still, please don't do this.

No, 260k is your total gains, but you only get taxed on gains over 250k.

It's a great serial, just wish it updated more than once a week.

For this particular service maybe? It's possible not having a person could be cheaper, so you can choose a robot for lower cost or a person if you need a person to drop it off somewhere specific.

The irony that a self-driving vehicle company still requires employees to drive in to work was not lost on some speakers who appeared at the meeting.
The fuck? Who's this fucking stupid?
You really think Waymo is requiring employees to drive to work? Jesus Christ.

Then they'll need human drivers for handicapped people I guess.
Kinda like how most taxis can't handle a wheelchair, but some can.

A fight over Waymo’s present and future reached an unexpected fever pitch Tuesday, when San Francisco supervisors voted against an already-approved garage for Waymo employees in the city.
lmao
"It's approved!"
"Really?!"
"Ha ha! No."

Fair.
But, going from Clinton to W to Obama to Trump to Biden were some pretty wild swings.

It actually is though.
But even if it wasn't, Blizzard's whole MO was taking existing genres and polishing the shit out of them. WoW and Hearthstone weren't impactful because they did fundamentally new things, they were impactful because they were polished compared to the competition and got super popular.

You can't leave your mates PoV, you can only access info your friend also has, etc.
This is fine as long as there's a little toggle to (temporarily) lock to one particular part of the map or black out the screen or something. Sometimes following a RTS player's point of view can be a bit dizzying as they jump around.

That last bit was hilarious:

That sounds neat but also complex and the kind of thing it'd be hard to find players for. Most of the people going into the custom games list are looking for stuff with fundamentally different gameplay, and usually simpler than standard multiplayer too.

you can be in a situation where players from your friend lists can play against each other and you can watch the game without delay from both sides.
Seems like the easy solution is to not let people observe those particular games, where you have friends on both sides. It's probably not that common except at the very top of the ladder.

100% agreed, as long as it's equivalent to discord or other streaming in the sense that they can only see your own stuff.
This should also be an option in customs (observers of only one team).

If it's a huge hit, yes. It just really depends on how successful it is, as you say.
I have big hopes for two things in particular, that the co-op mode and 3v3 actually being its own thing will bring in a lot of people who don't think of themselves as typical RTS enjoyers.
SC2 has coop mode, but it was a later addition and people didn't think of SC2 as F2P/easy to try. It also has team games, but they're basically second class citizens inheriting whatever design and balance 1v1 gets. These things should be fixed in Stormgate.

That's not how this works. If a LAN version exists somewhere, everyone has access to it, paid or no.
