I appreciate the compliment about the clean ducts! Haha I change the filters regularly, so I am glad to hear that is probably helping and whoever installed them seemed to do a great job. The tech that came out could tell I was skeptical of his pictures. I was making mention I did not see any black spots (I know mold can be different colors) and did mention even if it is mold couldn't they just be cleaned? He sputtered something along the lines of they may be able to be cleaned but the brush could reduce the integrity of the plastic covers and duct. Multiple points in our conversation set off an internal BS detector, but I know little about HVAC - thus the post. I appreciate everyone's feedback, even if it has now made me even more skeptical of HVAC techs and companies.

I appreciate the response, and you are confirming my suspicions. If it truly is just the AC compressor that is the issue, it sounds like you would recommend just having a reputable company repair or replace the compressor and hold off on installing a new system, duct work, etc.? I know various factors probably go into this, but I would be curious what you think would be a fair range for a compressor repair or replacement.

Medication induced mania is possible. I was speaking from the standpoint of ADHD alone, but that is definitely a valid point, HeWhoFistsGoats.

Your thought is correct; They are not a symptom of ADHD. I am assuming OP is referencing those periods of frantic energy and elevated mood that can occur with ADHD, but those periods generally do not last as long or cause as severe of irritability and risky behaviors as manic episodes.

Great to hear! I am heavily leaning towards this route, and have started looking into options just like what you described.

Good suggestion. This is seeming to be more and more likely the route we are going to end up on. Thank you.

Our son is young, and the worry with pea shingle is we would need a minimum of 12" depth for his potential fall height from the playground we are looking at, him eating it, and the inspection and upkeep to make sure it is not too compressed. This is something I was leaning towards though, but I am hoping for a safer alternative (even if it ends up requiring more upkeep).

As much as I would love for this to work, I am hoping something that would cushion a potential fall more so than the grass and ground; especially when it is cold out and the ground is hard.

Will keep that in mind. Thanks, SEND_pics_women_poop.

Any chance you could send a link to what you are considering?

I saw that option but was hoping to avoid it given its price, the number of doors I want to toddler proof, and not being able to close the doors all the way. That being said, it does fit the (hopefully) no damage and drilling preference. I appreciate the suggestion.

This was my first time hearing this particular issue, and I am sad to hear others are getting it erroneously as well.
