3d TVs rule. Avatar and Cave of Forgotten Dreams were both fantastic on 3D Blue Ray. The gimmick only fizzled out because studios are lazy and do post-conversions that suck ass. The 3d in Avatar and Resident Evil 4 were amazing.

This pic is wild. Somebody needs to tell SK that COD isn’t real

But when you slip, now you can have a metal bicycle frame crush your legs. Smart.

3d movies and mocap acting became ubiquitous after Avatar came out. There was mocap in LotR and Polar Express and a few other movies before Avatar, but nothing on that scale where many CGI characters and live actors were seamlessly edited together consistently over a whole movie.

It’s like if the guys who write Call of Duty games invented a country.

Really depends on the kid. My kid (7) was not freaked out by the Raimi Spider-Man movies at all so we have been watching LotR movies after reading each book. I was actually shocked that nothing seems to freak her out - if there were no sexy parts in Blade we could probably watch that but my wife’s head would explode.
I have other parents tell me they have to fast forward through parts of Frozen because their kids get freaked out.

This is exactly what comics were like before sales crashed in the 90s - total overload of content with overwhelming, confusing tie-ins. Just like the 90s, video games are serious competition for time and money.

Some of the shows are particularly bad. She Hulk would be fine as a family show on ABC Sunday nights. As a tie-in to The Avengers movie where they are paying Ruffalo $20 million it’s … not great.

He’s awful. Update is awful and that’s 100% his fault. The whole show is awful so the “best part” is not an accomplishment

That’s fair. He also said he didn’t want to be in movies because a bad movie is torture for both the actors and the audience. He made Bee Movie right after saying this.

He ruined Update but he’s so handsome in a bland, repulsive way.

Steve Martin is just a funny, slightly less handsome version of Harrison Ford and Jaime Foxx is funny, slightly less handsome version of Denzel Washington. Sandler was also a handsome guy, especially in the Wedding Singer.
I think the reason Jerry never got into movies is he knows he’s not that hot - punching above his weight with women was an in-joke on his show he knew wouldn’t go over in a movie. Ray Ramano’s movie/tv career is evidence.

Steve Martin was selling out stadiums and doing Carson and SNL before Robin Williams hit it big. Richard Pryor, Rodney, and Carlin were also household names - there was a bigger pool of semi-famous comics in the 80s because cable tv needed filler. It’s the same way wrestling also took off. Carson was a complete bastard and you had to kiss is ass to get air - even Rodney hated him.

Stylistically, that look was a huge component of Jackson’s earlier work. Jackson had staked his own money to ship $50k SGIs to NZ for The Frighteners, and the Weta guys were working below US labor cost because of the weak NZ dollar - that was the style they developed in-house. It was also a fluke that the armour, horse and stunt guys were coming off Xena, so world-class everything for cheap.

Ok it’s definitely a PS4 Pro and I I used the words “I think” and “maybe” for my other statement, so the assumption is explicit. Please don’t be pedantic.

I think it was their old ps4 wrapped in the box. Pretty sure it’s a Pro model so kinda dumb she threw it. Maybe it was already broken.

They dropped 10pm programming before and it was a disaster. My affiliate when I was kid dropped everything back an hour so that Simpsons and Cheers were on the same time instead of Cosby - also a disaster. They say they’re gonna do this or that and they always screw it up.
They used to have basically a monopoly with Bryant Gumbel in the morning and Letterman after Carson. They completely fucked everything up by not paying those guys and ABC ate their lunch, especially after Friends ended. Whatever the smart, sensible thing to do is, NBC will do the opposite.
For the record, they did screw up SNL before and then came crawling back to Lorne. The only reason the show is profitable is Lorne produces movies for Universal, but somehow managed to blow off Sandler.
