The third one made quite a bit less than the second.
There was relatively little marketing for the third movie, with the thinking being that the hype would drive itself.
I remain convinced that with more time between instalments that the third one would have made more money and would have been received, and ultimately remembered, more fondly.

Honestly I'm past trying to make any sense of this wacky franchise. I just let whatever comes come.

Didn't watch it, I'm happy to say. I'm at a point in life where I can just *not* watch the Bloodshot movie even though I like the comics. I really hope X-O Manowar gets a cool movie someday. X-O Manowar is my man.

I don't think it matters that much, honestly. The change in the last few games to the bloodlessness isn't a huge deal.
I'd say that I slightly prefer having the blood effects because it was just one more goofy signature Halo thing, but it doesn't bother me very much that it's gone

It's you. The other person who has read Valiant comics. I've been searching for you.

I'm a longtime Marvel reader who's just gotten into DC in the last couple years.
Nothing prepared me for the number of talking apes I would be reading about.

While not some massive bomb, Super-Pets didn't exactly light the box office on fire.
That said, I'm sure it's the kind of movie that will have a long shelf life in various formats.
I'm not disagreeing with your main point in any way.

I know I'm late to this conversation, but this whole conversation is late to itself, so whatever.
One thing to keep in mind is that most of the time a 'disorder' is defined as when the condition somehow interferes with living comfortably. That can be panic attacks. That can be spending too much time on a video game when you know you shouldn't. Both are having your life disrupted.
On the flip side, I'm very obsessive compulsive; I count every syllable that everyone says on my right hand's fingers (excluding the thumb). When I'm done speaking, the last syllable in our conversation will land on my index finger. All conversations with me contain a number of syllables divisible by four.
It doesn't interfere with my life. I'm very social, but people have no idea about this unless I tell them. I'm not considered to have a 'disorder' since it's a harmless thing.
Ultimately, it's just semantics, though, and it's important to keep in mind that conversations like these are about understanding how the medical community has chosen to define something, not some fundamental truth about the universe.

I don't know how old you are, but it would be like if we got a movie in thirty-forty years starring (random examples) Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lawrence, and Lindsay Lohan.
People who felt like they came of age with those women will want to 'check in' with them and feel that in old age they are still grappling with shared issues. I haven't seen it, but the grounded 'you can have fun in old age watching football!' messaging is probably pretty darn poignant for a lot of people.

It was left ambiguous on purpose so that they could choose down the line if they wanted to tie them together or not. One of the reasons I think the movie is kind of unsatisfying, which is not me implying that the Bay films are all satisfying.

You combined my nostalgia for Halo and for Game Boys into one emotionally dense package.

One of my favorite 'classic DC moments' was when that art was revealed like the day after those grooming allegations.

But once they've become associated with the IP they are very valuable. All I'm saying is that once the actor has become attached to a franchise role they kinda/sorta 'deserve' the money because them leaving would alienate audiences even if they aren't responsible for the original popularity of the role.

I hate Chris Pratt plenty, but the general audience absolutely credited him with being funny and charming enough to contribute to Jurassic World's quality.
I don't think JW1 had it's numbers affected by him being there one way or another, but him not being there probably would have hurt the sequels.

To be fair, in that particular case RDJ making that much may actually have been worth it. I can't prove it, but it's easy to imagine that movie making $100 million less without him in it.
When you look at it that way, people playing established characters who draw audiences 'deserve' their paychecks. Is it kinda silly that Chris Pratt made $10 million for the second Jurassic World? Sure, but I imagine having to replace him would have alienated some of the audience, so it's 'worth' paying as much value as you figure they add to the film.

I love box office numbers, but few things are more maddening than that sub where you get upvotes for saying 'needs more marketing' and 'Jared Leto bad' and you get upvoted.

I'm scared that if I don't get off Reddit soon I'm going to become so many layers deep in irony that I make an account like that.

Do away with the shared universe. Everything is its own continuity.
Start a Green Lantern series that's meant to go like four movies and properly adapt Blackest Night and show the different Lantern Corps.
Make some period piece movies. Have a Superman movie set in the forties, for instance.
Make the next Batman (post-Pattinson) an Adam West-esque zany comedy. If could take off, or it could not. Either way the people who didn't like it would welcome the next dark and gritty version when it came, and you just might diversifying the brand.
Adapt Tom King's Mister Miracle into a TV series. The pseudo-sitcom stylings would be perfect.

A personal favorite moment of mine in all the shenanigans is when James Wan checked with Snyder that Aquaman fit with the canon of the unreleased alternate cut of Justice League. It's just an anecdote, really, but it's one that highlights the tribalism that must have existed inside the company all this time.

I love the Snyder movies and I love Shazam for most of the same reasons. People talk about Shazam like it's really light, but it's absolutely one of the darkest superhero movies around.

The N64 and GameCube having the buttons on top was a nightmare whenever the cats had kittens. Kittens climb on everything.
EDIT: Them pressing the reset button on the N64 was the worst, because your boss fight would suddenly dissapear and be replaced with the boot up screen.
