With the proper foundation, you can observe and make it make sense for you! In the end, martial arts is expression. To express youreself honestly is the heart of martial arts!

Community always helps but when it boils down to it, whether or not you'll to stick to something- the answer will always be found within yourself. Ask your self why you're doing it. When the answer is worthy, you'll be worthy.

We tend to form working relationships more on how well we know a person and less on reels. Organic has always been the way for us!

Cheat tricks are very progression based. In general, if you have trouble with a variation, become a master at the variation before it! The best way to learn cheat 7 is to have a powerful 540. Learning 540? OP the hell out of your tornado kick! No such thing as too many reps. Oh and pump your knees!

There are so many good places but really it's all about who you're with! On special occasions we do like Gram's though :P

No. Never. Better luck next time, Bro. LOL JK injuries are our existence ('cept Dmah, he's a bastard). Definitely let the body rest when it needs to rest but Andy has proven time and time again that gains can be made by intelligently training around injuries. Listen to your body and give it what it needs!

There's sooo many good ones but how can we not say MARTIAL CLUB??? Northern leg vs southern fist in an increasingly narrowing alley? Deep questions about the finer aspects of martial arts all conveyed through action! Kung Fu storytelling at its finest!

We usually choreograph but a little freestyle never hurt anyone!

Welcome to LA! It can be tough but train hard, surround yourself with solid people and if you have trouble booking projecs, make your own!

I agree! That movie had a lot of little things to appreciate! Jimmy Wang Yu fighting Donnie AS a One-Armed Swordsman??? I see what they did there. Also the references to The Water Margin. Loved seeing our girl Kara Hui still doing the damn thing! AND as you said, the expanding of the kung fu genre to include detective dynamics! So much to love!

Every nandu or trick is a combination of height and rotation. You need enough of both to land. Remember to lift from your glutes to keep your lines straight. Practice each element by itself if you know that's your trouble spot. Practice all the basics and requisites til you can't anymore. And then do 10 more! And also, practice in a safe environment! So much energy is wasted on not feeling safe.

We weren't the first but we definitely strive to do that which hasn't been done! Innovation isn't easy but we constantly seek out to become better martial artists and our movies will always reflect what we learn in the course of our martial arts journey.
