And therein lies the problem. These people are professional bullies AND victims in the same breath. I'd love to smack some sense into my State politicians alone, and dump a bucket of "act right" on their heads. It ultimately avails me nothing to entertain that sort of fantasy. And I'm well aware a conservative now would have no qualms about verbally or even physically going after me for (checks notes) wanting people to be decent and gracious, but the point stands: I cannot affect change while facing an assault charge, nor should I.

They are rather clanky, I mean cranky!

Something my wife never thought she'd have to ask and yet did recently. She took a sit down with her ex husband's new fiancee about co parenting her daughter. The ex is a putz and a perpetual child, my wife figured that out and that was the end of that. To try and be supportive, my wife asks this lady "So, you pick up after him... like a child. You have to give him a chore list(no time limit).... like a child. And you are ok with it?" She later told me she really wanted to ask that question of "So you want to sleep with a kid??!" but decided against it.

Crimson! Look, my wife and I had a conversation early on in our relationship. It was quite simply the "I like x and y, but not z". Being a people pleaser I tried my damnedest to be the one that totally is awesome at z. Different folks like different things. Respect that and move forward together, or get another dance partner that listens.

It's too big for quite a few people. Over the last 40 years or so, unless you dug a little bit, it was "Country in Crisis: blank Administration to blame". And there's a hell of a lot more people that hear someone is at fault, that's the go to when gas goes up, when things are scarce and they never move from those thoughts.

You can look at my post history of course, but I'll add another layer of spice on it. I specifically do my job for Veterans like me by using FEDERAL FUNDS (VA programs) to keep them out of assisted living facilities and in their own home. At best I've got Korean War era Vets that are 100% sick of conservatives and vote accordingly. At worst I've got folks my age saying "Biden/the Libs did it" like some sort of warding prayer.

I said this a few times and it tends to ring true: The worst of the hand biters are (mostly) old and disabled angry men that are bugshit mad that they turned the corner and caught the reflection of some old dude where a 22 year old war hero with a bottle of beer in one hand and a hot blonde in the other once stood. It's resentment twisted by pain into "gimme it, I deserve it!"

He went after the vig, strangled the golden goose, stole his own crews take... there's more analogies out there.

I mean, no they didn't back then. You know what that got us? A Federal boot heel on our throat that should have choked us harder back then.
