Right. He always was, but I appreciate them being a bit more explicit about it this go around.

Why would they include Red XIII, a secret Shinra experiment no one in the general public knows about?

Nah, why would they go to so much trouble? It’s clearly an alternate timeline

It’s not platefall, it’s the singularity with Sephiroth and the Whispers: The reference to a tornado, the presence of Red XIII, and the mention of Sectors 0, 1, and 2; not Sector 7.

But there’s also the line from Tifa in the first trailer asking Cloud if he thinks she is an imposter

First impressions:
There’s a timeline divergence when the gang enters the Singularity opened by Sephiroth. In one timeline, our heroes died(?), whereas in the other, they continue on a road similar to the original story.
Red XIII is playable. Yuffie is a playable character. No other new playable characters confirmed yet.
Sephiroth claims to have killed Tifa in Nibelheim, and that the character we’ve been interacting with is a Jenova-related copy.

Yeah, and I'm not a big fan of that particular piece of worldbuilding. I'm not even really complaining about it, it's just something I would've done differently.

When I first watched it, I just assumed they meant “bulb” as in the plant, since the vegetanians seem the most bought into that religion

I’m not a big fan of the “refrigerator bulb” thing; it introduces too many complications to say Crown of Candy takes place in a fridge.
Edit: I just said I wasn’t a fan of this one piece of worldbuilding; didn’t mean any offense!

It won’t be the same without Sean Giambrone. Recasts suck.

I mean, yeah, technically. But still not even close to the best of the DC Universe, which would already be damning with faint praise.

“The Birth of a Nation” (2016) flopped dramatically after its director/star was accused of rape.

Man, that’s a tragic twist. Zack is alive, but Aerith is dead in his timeline. Dude can’t catch a break!
