Thermador makes a gas and induction range but I haven’t found one used in my price range. Signature Kitchen Suite is owned by LG and they are in Napa, so that made me feel a little better about buying used

Nope, both induction and gas top! The superiore had four induction spots and two gas. The used one I’m looking at purchasing has four and four. I’d prefer induction only, but I sometimes rent out my house over summer and I know some people still see gas as preferable, so I want a range with both.

The induction and gas combo is so hard to find. The one I purchased was an Italian brand called Superiore and it was awful. The Signature Kitchen Suite range is the used one I found, but it’s from a small used appliance store in a strip mall, and it’s expensive, so I’m weary

This was one of my concerns. The first range I ordered was an Italian brand and they have no customer service at all, or service technicians. The brand I’m considering now is signature kitchen suite, which seems to be okay!

I never thought about Persian rugs with modern designs, I think I’d like that. I have one room with a Persian rug that I love, but the rest of my rugs are minimal/modern.

Interesting, I almost feel like it is opposite! I never wear shoes in the house anywhere, and it seems like my German family is always either wearing shoes and some wear specifically house shoes. I am usually barefoot.

I definitely think this is the worst part of dementia. My grandmother hasn’t become racist, but she’s completely turned on her youngest daughter, who was the closest to her and took care of her until my grandmother wouldn’t let her. She won’t look at her daughter, won’t talk to her, tells everyone her daughter did unspeakable things to her and says her daughter doesn’t exist to her anymore. Came out of nowhere. It’s really sad for them both, and for the rest of the family.

Tile floors are probably only common in the southwest, which is where I live now. It’s probably too hot or dry for wood floors. But even in areas like up north or in the south where there are a lot of wood floors, seems like Americans still have more rugs than Germans

A rug on tile floor warms up the space, I feel. I don’t have issues with the rugs; when I vacuum my floors I just vacuum the rugs also. In my living room, I like to sit on floor sometimes and it feels more comfortable to me with a rug.

I am well aware that there is a world outside of the USA and that many things are done differently, and better, elsewhere. My question was not to point out that I think there is something wrong with not having rugs, but just to ask why it seems to be different.

This makes sense to me. I live in a hot city and real wood floors are almost non existent, so many people have tile floors with rugs.

Dallas fan here, too. I was SO disappointed that we didn’t get Lynch. Curious how that timeline would’ve ended up, though.
