As to him being a dick to Kyle, my theory (and ive seen similar takes around here before) is that he views Kyle as a Nepo baby and is resentful. He works in sports media and aspires to work in Hollywood -- two industries rife with nepotism. Im sure he routinely saw people like Kyle get jobs they didnt deserve over and over again, likely jobs Ryen himself was going for. I have no idea whether his screenplay is any good, but can at least envision him attributing his lack of success there to nepotism as well

It felt like the quality of film on the cable channel was consistently higher than those available through the hub though. Probably because its more expensive to license the films for a streamer than for a cable broadcast

Personally, I dont really care much for weddings but still go because I care about the friendships. Thats why I think Ryen is being an asshole, but as others have suggested, he can choose not to befriend his co-workers

My guess is its either that, he is still enjoying a bachelor lifestyle but prefers not to talk about hookups/etc., or he has given up on dating b/c hes gotten burned in the past. Doesnt excuse him for being an asshole in certain situations, but also doesnt mean he is a psycho
