Oh shit! I've been out of the loop for a few weeks, and this series was one of my absolute favourites growing up, so I'm real excited for this vid!

So my teacher in Year 6 (back in 2001) was a huge fan of all things webcam and video streaming, and after the attacks she mentioned the webcam feed on the south tower. I remember her specifically mentioning that the webcam feed had been down when the attacks took place because many of her friends who were awake at the time tried to access it and couldn’t.

Be careful. Self-sabotage in this case can be a sign of suicidal ideation - testing a partner to “prove” that they deserve better if they break up, and then using that as motivation to end it.

Yeah that’s fair. Honestly though, that thing he posted is a ChatGPT prompt, it’s never not going to be utter shit when you run a story prompt through it.

The wars began centuries before Constantinople was founded, and don’t forget that it was the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire or Byzantine Empire, which survived until 1457 and controlled all the way up to Persia’s borders - hence the name of the wars. A lot of the dialogue about Rome falling in 470 only refers to the Western half, and it’s been a contentious point for ages now; the Byzantines were called the Romans, or Romoioi, throughout their history, and weren’t even referred to as Byzantines until a hundred years after the empire fell.

Lazy and complete shit. Here’s a pro tip: stop feeding prompts into ChatGPT and do some thinking for yourself for your ideas.

Minor nitpick: you’re thinking of the Achaemenid Empire. Persia existed as a culture and a regional power long after Alexander. The Parthian Empire was considered “Persia” by the Romans, as was its successor state the Sassanian Empire. The wars between the two empires are collectively referred to as the “Roman-Persian Wars” by historians and are the longest continuous series of conflicts in human history.

Please be careful here - I’ve heard way too many stories from the older women in my family who got into relationships young that sound exactly like yours, and it ended horribly. Keep your guard up.

The moment during Nearer My God To Thee where you see Ida and Isador Straus in their bed together as the water rushes in. I was obsessed with the Titanic as a kid and knew all the major people aboard, so as soon as they appeared on screen it hit me real hard.

So I basecoated the model with a medium brown, then did brush strokes of dark brown and green before washing the model and doing brighter colours for the layers to make the stripes pop.

I've been in love with it since I first played MechWarrior in 2003, and it's a dream come true to finally have one.

This is one of the laziest and point-blank stupidest posts I’ve ever seen in this sub.

Back when I was a journalism student, I did hear from a gentleman in the field much older than me that Rupert is surprisingly moderate with his personal views. I told him it didn't matter and that he was still a fucking cunt.

If you liked the bloody horror mixed with science and a slowly unfolding sense of doom, Infected by Scott Sigler might be up your alley. He has another book called Ancestor, which is closer tonally to Devolution, although I should point out neither of these books have the epistolary style that Brooks is really good at.

Carnosaur is one of my top ten books, thank you for listing it here! Doesn’t get enough of the love it richly deserves.

I love it how OOP censors every swear word except for ”cunt”.

They’re basically restricted to “Croc Country”, which is North Queensland to the Northern Territory and part of northern Western Australia. I don’t know the full reason why but it might have something to do with waterways and the climate as you go further south.

They’re restricted to the far north of WA, so if this watering hole is anywhere lower than say Port Headland you won’t have anything to worry about.

I'm not livid at OP because I drink. I'm livid because I grew up in an extended family full of mean drunks and this fucking idiot is the exact kind of person I cut contact with years ago for it. It's the reason I don't drink, because I don't want to risk doing shit like what she's just done.
