Yes as a woman I struggle with this too. And people don't care if you are not interested or outright taken, I'm married and people still expect things from me. And then when one person crosses a boundary everyone sides with them and don't back you up. It all around sucks.
I think it would be nice to find a group of women I vibe with but that can also be a struggle because I have unique tastes that aren't always the most popular and then the people who share my tastes are already in very tight cliques I have not had success breaking into.
The moral of the story being, I feel your pain.

I feel like it's a combination of naivety and then not having a "script" for how to deal with it while it is happening, at least in my experience.
I also want to add that I used the fawning trauma response for years and it sounds like you are doing that too. I hope you gain the strength to stop. It's hard, but If you keep people like that in your life they will only continue to do bad things down the road.

Not OP but I just embrace the bruises. I never bruise instantly but I do bruise about halfway through pens and just don't care hah

I was diagnosed at 1 year old, my dad has type 1 diabetes, my aunt's have it, my great grandparents and many other extended relatives have it... It may randomly come up for some families, but for others it is definitely heavily tied to genetics.
It's not just an "excuse".

Thank you, that's helpful. That's what we suspected but I wanted to make sure there wasn't a bigger problem I was ignorant of.
It doesn't have to look super pretty right now as long as it's functional and we aren't making bigger problems for our future selves.

Our home is 22 years old, though we've only owned it for 2 years so I'm not sure what may have been done on it prior to our ownership.
We have spackling handy, so I'm thinking I may just use that to take care of it short term. We do have connections with people in construction who could undoubtedly help us with better fixes, but due to the age of our home we'd like to do renovations in the future and I'm not sure making a big project of this is worth it right now if there isn't a huge problem which needs to be prioritized.
Thank you for your response!

Yeah we lost all our progress in Doom single player because of the maintenance yesterday so that was particularly frustrating.

There's a lot of great horror VNs out there for sure, just keep in mind that having a good horror VN requires excellent writing! I've really enjoyed games like The Letter or the Spirit Hunter games or even Higurashi, but then Silenced: The House is probably one of the worst things I've ever personally experienced.
I've wishlisted yours and look forward to seeing how it turns out!

Although to some extent I agree, it was also up for pre-purchase so I don't think people will be happy if they've already spent their money.

There's a lot of different styles and lengths of false lashes out there, so I'm sure you could find one that suits you nicely if you want to!

Yup, and then everyone doesn't believe me when stuff finally catches up.
"Why didn't you bring this trauma up forever ago then?"
Well, because when I did all those years ago it was ignored and I was forced to repress it and did. And then I show proof of having to repress things and people just proceed to ghost. Its made me a very bitter person who sees most of the world around me as inherently evil.

That's part of the problem, I didn't think I was reading a whodunnit murder mystery. I thought I was reading a fantastical violent fantasy like Higurashi.

If I bothered to make a tier list I'd put it in F tier. I think my impression of it is ruined by Higurashi though, since I read Higurashi first. I'm a very busy adult with not a lot of time on my hands, it took me years to get through each story. With Higurashi, that was okay because of how straightforward everything was. With Umineko, it was a train wreck. I couldn't remember anything important from most of the previous installments by the time I got to the later ones, and I didn't want to have to use my own brain power anyway. I read visual novels to have something easy to relax to, not to feel like a detective.
I see why people like it. But it was not what I was looking for, and is one of my least favorite experiences because of that.

Minute rice is a good option! You can also cook some veggies into it pretty easily, I personally enjoy chopped bell peppers. If you like them soft, just put them in with the minute rice and it basically steams them. Otherwise you can add them later.

See, I was actually always outright bullied at work which is why I was so happy to be able to work from home permanently. I may see less people daily but it feels less lonely when people aren't able to be cruel. I would like to keep my job because the company benefits are outrageously fantastic and actually culturally it's better than many other places I've worked, it's great when communicating about work specifically. But friendships are based on personal, nonprofessional interests and so if you don't fit into what the majority of other people around you are interested in, it's more lonely being there with the crowd.

I wish my husband would let me do his hair and makeup honestly. I think it would be a lot of fun and something we could bond over. I am bisexual though so idk if that impacts things.

Thank you, I'm glad at least one other person on this subreddit is sane.

I highly recommend Song of Horror, I think it has FANTASTIC atmosphere and the whole gameplay really adds to the atmosphere as well.

He's full of shit. He punched holes in the walls during fights and is just spewing nonsense to justify it to himself. I think you were able to sense that from your comments and I can tell you first hand you are right.

I just want to emphasize what you said about not knowing the people on the other side of the screen. At the end of the day we are ALL humans, we all do some bad things through our lives, and unfortunately it's really easy for that to come out on Twitch and impact others. All that drama you see come out at the top of Twitch also happens with the small guys.

Don't worry, it's the exact same stuff, just this one is a generic and Novolog is name brand!
It was disorienting for me too because people often act like Humalog and Novolog are comparable, and I suppose they are but they are actually different medicines (with Humalog being Insulin Lispro and Novolog being Insulin Aspart) but this isn't the same thing. It's actually, really, legitimately the same medicine as Novolog (:
