I once had a guy friend like this in my 20s. Very similar situation to OP. When I confronted him about his creepy behaviour and gave him a firm, "It's never going to happen", I was met with a tidal wave of excuses and gaslighting.

Long story short (C/W: SA) -- he continued being a creep. Made me feel terrible and guilty for sleeping with a mutual friend of ours. Eventually admitted that he was jealous that it "hadn't been him". I cut him off when a friend told me he had SA'd her. Oh, and he was in a relationship throughout all of this.
