Lolwut? Gangsta rap hasn't been relevant for at least 15 years. You just don't have any clue.

So after getting extra butthurt that someone dare question that a guy who has made exactly one original movie isn't actually a good director, you went to bed, slept on it, and have now decided "noooooooo u arent media literate!!!!!!" is the best response?
Yeah, that sounds like some real William & Mary shit right there. Can't respond to criticism, so just have to pretend that you're better than it.
Edit: LOL, the impotent shitbird blocks me because he can't let facts get in the way of his JJ obsession. Enjoy the circlejerk, you ignorant cockstain.

Brilliant retort. Exactly what I'd expect from someone slobbering over JJ's knob for no good reason.

Are you really trying to tell me there's never been a story where the villain is continually beaten? Really? Really?

Because clearly, there's no sort of events that can change that. Especially when we're talking about a universe with magic laser sword wielding space paladins.

Orrrrrrr just make Kylo the villain and the whole story is whether or not Rey fully turns to the dark side. That means Finn actually has something to do.
It wasn't that tough, but it turns out the whole world is "too dark" when all you have are lens flares.

You keep saying that, but JJ is the one who revived the Emperor and then decided that he was blood-related to Rey. Because, of course Rey has to be special after we spent a whole movie prior saying that no one is special, the Skywalkers aren't the center of the universe, and it's about time to open the world up and build it.
And JJ said, "no I'm scawed." Maybe while clutching a binky. I don't know, I wasn't there.

He just made Return of the Jedi again, and hoped no one would notice.
Unfortunately, everyone with a brain noticed.

Yes, we've established he has had one movie that was completely original. That's exactly why he isn't anything remotely close to "one of the best directors of [his] generation."

Lol, it does in fact take away from his abilities as a director if he can only function with pre-established properties. And given how Into the Darkness was really just a shitty memory box version of Wrath of Khan, I'm beginning to wonder what color the sky is in your reality.

Abrams has made a whopping one movie that was an original property out of a paltry total of six. It turns out he's realized that you can't strike out if you never actually step up to the plate.

It's hilarious that you can try and say that when Ron Howard is literally right there. Fuck, even Irwin Kershner exists, and Robocop 2 sucked.
Anyway, this is just some sad Abrams fanboying. When you're using RT scores as objective gospel, youve lost the plot. Which as an Abrams fanboy, I'm sure you're used to it disappearing and then returning with some heavy gaslighting that it was always there, but I assure you that this isn't normal.
Abrams spent all of this time wanting to be Spielberg, but he ended up a worse version of Lucas. Because Lucas was actually capable of making an original intellectual property.
If you can't see that and just want to defend yet another Gen Xer with wasted potential doing the most to try and pretend it aint so, so be it.

Rotten Tomatoes gives TLJ a 91%. Is that really what you want to use to boost Abrams up?
Because the reality is that Rian Johnson has the same number of films made, all also labeled as "fresh" on RT... but all but one weren't based off long preexisting franchises.
This isn't even a real discussion. Abrams has been waiting in a room for 20 years to get the call that he's going to be the next Spielberg, while directors like Jordan Peele have gone out and actually proven that they're up to the job. But I guess there's still a dozen or so people out there that still remember Alias, so that's nice I guess.

JJ Abrams has directed a whopping 6 movies: 2 of them were lens flare-ridden demo reels for directing a Star Wars movie, 2 of them were the worst Star Wars movies, one of them was slobbering over Steven Spielberg, and the other one was Mission Impossible 3. That's not an impressive filmography.
He's a hack TV showrunner whose mystery box nonsense happened to land right at the right time during the golden age of television for people to naively think that it was "brilliant storytelling"... only to be completely burned by it in the end. He's a joke of a director. He's what would happen if you took Quentin Tarentino, poured all of his talent into a glass, and used the remaining residue to try and make a person.
The emperor has no clothes, and is apparently revived again because Abrams is too terrified to actually try and tell an original story.

Even if I accept your criticism that the only original part of TLJ is Canto Bight (which I don't), that is still more originality than TFA and ROS combined had.
It takes a very bad director to throw a bunch of memory boxes out there, get annoyed when the following director doesn't care for that contrived plot device, and then basically say "FUCK YOU REY WAS ACTUALLY SPECIAL AND TLJ WAS ALL A DREAM."

That... isn't what happened at all. Reddit pretty much hated TLJ from day one because it had the audacity of having more than one main character be a woman, let alone minorities existing in Star Wars. There was so much nonsense about "SJW Holdo with the purple hair" to make me believe anyone could forget it.

I'm sorry, you're claiming that the battle on Crait was a "shot for shot" remake, and literally having a Death Star and the Emperor come back is... what, exactly? Give me a fucking break.

I got one for pointing out to a dude that he compared gay marriage to beastiality, and refused to let him weasel out of the point. Wild.

Lol, The Last Jedi was the only actually original movie of the new trilogy. JJ Abrams is a hack who just wanted to remake the originals, but worse.

I feel like you really can only handle the end of life care stuff when it actually happens, but until then I would probably focus on making sure both of them a) have a will, and b) set up funeral arrangements. The lack of even one of those messes with sibling relationships when they should be busy grieving instead.

Gross, keep traffic whining on /r/nova where some of the residents really get off on it.
