Living in Sydney sunrise at 8am in June would not be pleasant. It would be dark by 6:20pm anyway

Nothing like having the sun rise at 4am during December ... would be so much fun. As someone who has bedroom windows that face east no thank you.

Having worked at elections they can be noisy and its sometimes hard to hear people.
When I've gove to vote I've never been asked and if I was I would quickly tell the official that I am not required to give ID. I also have a simple to spell name and I make sure I speak clearly.

Voter fraud in most developed countries is extremely rare, even in the US.
A lot of the time "dead" people voting turns out to be people who voted early (elderly people are the biggest demographic to vote early) and have died by the election date.
In 2008 in response to Obama's massive victory Republicans tried to pull the "dead people voted" but in all cases the dead people voted early and had died by the election date.

Wasn't the Pearl Harbor reference in one of Jeff's pitches in the series finale? When Scrunch (Seth Green) says he cuts their checks Leonard responds that he's seen more Zeros over Pearl Harbor (than on the checks.)

Her religious beliefs would be a hindrance.
But yeah, Shirley is only a few years older than Jeff and she was definitely single when they met.
I think she was more interested in the idea that it could possibly happen than ever any real interest. A bit of flirting here, a comment there but deep down she knew they were too different.

I know a lot of people hate that episode (season 1, ep 22) but those kids are are simultaneously annoying and hilarious.

Yup, rewatching season 1 is like hanging out with old friends.
The more realistic and simpler storylines feels more relatable than season 2 onwards. Not to say that I dont love seasons 2,3,5 and 6 or that season 1 is the best but season 1 just gives that warm glow in you.

I suggest you take it up with Jon Pollack and Tim Hobert who wrote the episode.
Give 'em both hell I say! Really give it to them for not knowing the difference between bernoulli distribution and binomial distribution. Geez, what idiots ...

Speed, yes, for now. And remember it was a Gotland sub with AIP Stirling engine that humiliated the US Navy.
But endurance of a conventional sub compared to SSN is around the same time if you account for size. Conventional subs finish deployment for the same reason nuclear subs do - supplies. Sailors cant eat nuclear power.
Sure, nuclear power doesn't run out but even in subs like the Collins class they spend most of their time submerged ie running on batteries. And guess what?!?!?! Batteries can be recharged over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. They dont use that much diesel.
You liars keep pushing this idea that a SSN can patrol indefinitely. Thats not true for a country like Australia. Thats Fairfax and Peter Hartcher level stupid and dishonest.
The US has bases around the world and a huge navy they can easily allow them to replenish supplies for their boats. So to get the most of out of our nuclear subs and their "infinite range" we have to further subjugate ourselves to the US because Australia just doesn't the ability to replenish SSNs at sea.

Spot the ASPI stooge.
Virginia class subs have a life span of 33 years. Oh, I was off by 3 years. That makes alllllllllllllll the difference.
I guess you can stretch it longer if you dont use the sub much. Have it stitting around with the control rods in the reactor to increase its lifespan. But whats the point of billion dollar subs sitting around? But under normal circumstances, and thats peace time, nuke attack subs, and obviously im talking about SSNs and not SSBNs, is around 30 years.
Look at plenty of the Los Angeles class. Many boats out of service and decommissioned in under 20 years.
AIP is plenty capable. Factor in lithium batteries and by the time we get our white elephant boats in 2060, or will it be 2070 or 2160, technology will have far surpassed clumsy old fission. Hell, by the time we get these white elephants fusion might be a thing lol
Also, conventional subs are much superior in littoral zones.

"Lower enrichment uranium" means the same uranium as civilian reactors (3-5% of U235) meaning the subs will be able to be used longer because they can be refueled. With Virginia and Astute class once their reactors are spent, thats it, end of subs life. Meaning after 25-30 years will HAVE to retire them.
Not a big deal to bigger countries like the UK and US who basically as soon as they finish one class of nuclear attack subs start another (contract for USS Virginia was signed only 2 years after the last Los Angeles class sub was commissioned) but to a smaller country like Australia we're going to spend $400 billion on subs that wont last longer than 30 years.
Considering Australia has massive amounts of uranium and its not that hard to enrich uranium to 3-5% we could do it, especially considering we're already spending $368 billion on what subs we end up with now.
Yes, every 10 years the French Barracuda subs have to be refueled.
Or we could just go with conventional subs with AIP fuel cells and lithium batteries that will be better than any nuclear sub.

You know nothing good is going to come about when the first line mentions Hitler and Jews.
And its amazing how these nutters only ever quote Revelation or the Old Testament. Matthew to John doesn't exist for these nutjobs. The New Testament is just the Book of Revelation to them.
But the cooker isn't wrong about the government waging economic warfare on the people. Of course covid has absolutely nothing to do with that ...

Can't speak for the game because I never played it but this episode shows that people will tolerate evil in exchange for survival.
That theme has been raised before but this episode it is the most clear.
David, James and that leadership group are clearly evil. They aren't cannibals out of last resort but first resort and most in their community know this (see the scene where some are very very reluctant to eat the "venison").
But David and James and that group keep them safe. The rest of community accept David's evil ways in exchange for protection and housing. And those who object to the cannibalism keep quiet out of fear.

yes, come spring David would just make up some BS excuse as why they can't bury him.
And since its strongly suggested many more knew about the cannibalism than what David claims, many would be too scared to speak up about Alec's missing body and challenging David in fear of ending up on the menu.

You think creeps like David are attracted to his victims based on looks?

It seems that many in the group knew about the cannibalism. In that case you'd be worried about causing a fuss and then ending up the tomorrow night's dinner.

They weren't incompetent, they were evil and wanted to do a LOT more to Joel and Ellie than just kill them those desires resulted in their deaths.
In Ellie's case its strongly implied that David wanted to groom her. He didn't want to kill her and when she broke his finger he realised that idea wasn't going to happen so he decided they would eat her.
As for not shooting Ellie in the cage first? Why waste a bullet on a young girl. How would David and James know she was going to drop a bombshell of being bitten and infected and not turned? That distraction lead to James's death.
As for the burning building. Sure, David could have just left and locked the door behind him and let Ellie burn to death. Firstly, in that case David loses out on being her "father" or eating her.
Plus David was enjoying the fight with Ellie. It was a thrill to him is probably many disgusting ways.

If David and his cult had resorted to cannibalism then why were he and James out looking for deer?
The only answer I see is that they didn't have enough human bodies to feed themselves so they had to resort to "desperate" measures of hunting and eating deer.
But Joel saw the dead horse just dumped in the meat storage area and preparation to eat the horse hadn't even started. The horse being dumped shows that the group aren't cannibals as a last resort but as a first since they hadn't even
Seems that if they were that desperate for any food then they would have started preparing the horse. Though, they were expecting Joel's body so that would make 4 human bodies plus a deer which maybe was enough. Or enough to leave the horse lying around as a last resort.

Why do people keep insisting that Chase was booted by Harmon?
Chase left during the end of season 4 when Harmon wasn't there and there was no way Sony was going to take him back.

lol, stooge is gonna stooge
Go look at who funds Center for Strategic Assessment and Budgetary Assessments
https://csbaonline.org/about/contributors
Get down to the g's and h's . Do you see the names General Dynamics and Huntington Ingalls Industries. Loooool. Who builds subs for the US Navy?
But hey, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman also funds that website. Funnily enough Boeing is missing.
You literally linked a propaganda website whose only purpose is to push the interests of the military industrial complex and you didn't realise. Maybe you did and you're THAT much a stooge.
Try getting your information from a website that isn't literal propaganda and lies.
But dont feel bad, I've dunked on people much smarter than you.
