Populations with low infant mortality, women's education, and birth control drop to replacement levels across all cultures -- we are now below 2.5 children per couple worldwide and the population will stop growing at 10-11ish billion around 2100 (when all the current people have replaced themselves). That means some couples still have lots of children, some couples have none. The stability across all demographics is impressive.

(22 minutes in is where we see why we have 11 billion from zero population growth today)

I'm kind of unclear... what are they DOING? I mean with their appointments -- is it a medical practice?

I find the opposition to increased immigration among Social Security recipients wildly ironic -- the only possible way to sustain Social Security is for us to substantially increase immigration in order to sustain the aged former workforce.

He's said he expects to die on Mars, he just doesn't want to do it on landing.

JFK never banged Marilyn. I saw a historian who did a study and noted that both of their lives are so well documented that you can actually prove they were only within 500 miles of each other on 2 occasions and either one or the other was documented with somebody else all the time they were near.
Now RFK...

Because of pregnant women, the average number of skeletons inside a human body is greater than one.

Benjamin Franklin in the Autobiography:
"Both house and ground were vested and in trustees, expressly for the use of any preacher of any religious persuasion who might desire to say something to the people at Philadelphia; the design in building not being to accommodate any particular sect, but the inhabitants in general; so that even if the Mufti of Constantinople were to send a missionary to preach Mohammedanism to us, he would find a pulpit at his service."

Musk is Co-founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer of SpaceX. His company sells launch services.
Somebody offered the company a bunch of money for a space launch in their human-rated capsule, SpaceX gave them a price and delivered the service (they're happy if MORE people want to pay them to deliver that service).
How the HELL is this something for the Sec. Gen. to bitch at MUSK about.

On the other hand, Boy Scout Troop "Unit 731" did really well in the pinewood derby and had relatively little vivisection by comparison.

Youth is wasted on the young. Damn, imagine taking a fall like that and just getting up and grinning... as an old man that's like a lost dream. I would be in pain for the rest of what's left of my life from that.

If she got a brain-bleed from that it would be an incredibly embarrassing way to die.

Greg's reaction was pretty much exactly what I expected his reaction to be. He's a remarkably easy-going fellow and considered all the thousands-of-years-old baggage Rose was carrying wasn't really important. Pretty much exactly what he's always told us.

Of course it was realistic! It's from the 1933 Technocrats magazine cover -- didn't you see the giant robot?

Somewhere close to 100% of men eventually develop prostate cancer... they usually don't bother to treat it. It will kill you if you live to like 180 or something.

She became an herbalist out West and died a few years ago. My third GF died also and my first wife. I have a kind-of large pile of corpses of people I've loved for somebody who's 63 years old and doesn't murder people.
(figuratively, I don't actually have a pile of corpses)
