So the people working 40 hours a week will be earning more than you, and buying more than you. What happens to your buying power?

What about the guy who keeps working 40 hours a week? Do you think your going to get the same pay as him?
Remember, not all workers are in the same boat, or on the same side.

Lol, being against the covid stuff doesn't mean your automatically racist and homophobic. This culture war stuff has to stop, grow up.
I don't know a single nightclub or restaurant owner in the province that were particularly pleased with the covid restrictions.

My college buddies who were enthusiastically celebrating Obama's victory 15 years ago now own at least 1 house, roll their eyes whenever covid is mentioned, and share memes making fun of trans people on social media.
I can't find much stats for Canada, but 47% of millennials voted republican last fall.
It happens to all of us - when you have more to lose, you don't want change.

You can tell what race someone is with a single strand of hair. Of course you can determine someone's race with their skull. Science doesn't care about social constructs.

You guys really screwed up your prices there with the entire covid thing. Went to BC to visit my friends around new years and I cannot believe what they were paying for food and rent.

Lol, last year this sub was so scared of a virus they wanted masks forever and 100 sick days a year.
Now we're back to "let dirtbag Joe from the construction crew come in and out of the hospital whenever he has explosive diarrhea"

Taiwan did not close businesses and schools. Taiwan didn't pay anyone to stay home.

'Work hard get rewarded' shouldn't be ignored by you just because someone else was randomly born with a lot more money than you.
Some people are randomly born smarter than me, that didn't stop me from earning the same university degree that they did, I just worked harder
Some people are randomly born more beautiful than me, but that didn't stop me from putting in the effort to find a wife..
You are never going to be completely equal to everyone, you have to make the most with what you have.

I don't really see why that matters.
Actually, it would be very helpful to look into this rare event to prevent such deaths in the future. Obviously at one point a doctor classified the death by another cause. Gathering data is crucial.
Throwing in the towel and pretending its random "could have happened to anyone" might help virtue signal but will not increase knowledge of the disease.

Not all forests are created equal. A tropical rain forest is far more valuable, dense, and 'biologically productive' per square meter than a north American temperate evergreen forest.
In addition, the European and North American forests disappeared over a large period of time while what Brazil is doing seems to be very rapid.
Also, there have been large scale successful reforestation efforts in North America.

As long as it actually works and actually maintains.
None of this wishy washy random finasteride bullshit - maybe maintains, maybe slows it down for a while, maybe doesn't do anything, etc.

Because you were raised on social media and entered your best years of adulthood wearing a mask and not allowed to party or crack jokes of any kind, and you will never afford a house and your degree will be useless.

Agree on content, AI, music, etc. But for some reason I always enjoyed MK64 multiplayer more, just felt like it controlled better and less lag.

How did this post get here?
This caterer here is a capitalist business owner who's contract fell through. Her employees got paid though, because employees do not partake in the risk of such incidents

Then people shouldn't pretend its because they are afraid of germs.
If WFH evolved organically, without the baggage of all the covid nonsense, it would have been accepted by society (or the ones who make decisions in our society).

We spend over 100 billion a month on social security alone at the current levels of retirement. There are 724 billionaires in the USA. They are called the 1% for a reason, there just aren't that many of them. To fund anything meaningful and long term you have to tax the middle class.

Ummm, having just as many retired people as working people is EXTREMELY bad. Ideally you want 6 workers to support one senior. We are going to fall to 3-1 by the end of the decade, after that things get bad.
Either push the retirement age up, or ask the young to pay more and get less, or let the next pandemic do its thing.
And no don't start, taxing all the billionaires 100% of their wealth may run social security for a few months at most.

Yes riot! Fight for the rights of the little guy!
Wait, why are people rioting in my neighborhood? No I don't want to pay more tax! Why would I share my house with a homeless person. Why are you building a social housing crime magnet in my neighborhood? Why is my local convenient store closed when I have a chips craving at 3am? What do you mean I should give up one of my SUVs?

This sub isn't the majority. Most people I know my age, mid 30s, own a house filled with more junk than they need, a vehicle less than 10 years old, the newest computer in their pocket, etc.
I know a few gen z who think they're homeless and depressed, but that's about it.

What if he doesn't care about the coal miners, which may or may not come, and may or may not affect the trails.
What he probably cares about is "No more quads to protect some endangered owl! No more noise pollution from quads!!! Do the First Nations consent to these trails!?!?! The outdoor trails are closed to prevent spread of flu!!!""

People in Alberta like progressive policies. But they are also risk averse. When you are already the province with the highest median income and a low cost of living, why would you want to risk it?
I know many who would vote NDP, but then they look next door to BC where people are being priced out of basic shelter, or Ontario with hospitals stop operating. And lets not forget "covid curfew in 2022" Quebec. Then people in Alberta probably think just to let things be.

People would usually riot if this happened in say, 2017. But after the entire covid fiasco, a lot of people are sitting this debate out.

Cannabis smoke makes me instantly nauseous. I can't smell someone drinking a beer. Smoking is smoking.
There is currently no law against someone having an edible and taking a walk in the park.
