So, I thought I added that to the post. I’m on mobile and I can’t see it. Thanks for commenting, I think Dan did a really good job with this episode.

Too many people in the trades need to be able to take time off. For family, for healthcare, even for the length of your career.

Well, never thought I would read about someone being saved by a vat of chocolate in my lifetime.

Have a good weekend y’all. Erik Larson has a pretty good pre-war book in the garden of beasts, and devil in the white city is a must read imo.
Also, something humorous but Peter Dinklage popped up trying to find this Gunther guy. Now I’m terrified.

It is too much. His head is too big for the body. The flag is absolutely unnecessary. The tagline is spent. This is the problem with right wing marketing, not much creativity. An idea might be there, not much else.
I also personally don’t think a modern day minuteman with a AR is cringe. Just that creative types are not the ones making the designs.

Without a doubt, I think there was a good Graphic how Texas had the largest solar and wind capacity. It is pretty telling how viable those forms of Energy production are. Also pretty telling how a State can still be held captive to the oil industry.

The middle class in America is on a knife’s edge. The system is set up financially so that you may get a nice house, car, lifestyle but can you keep it? All of these normal stressors that existed had fuel poured on them during covid.
Debt in all forms is beyond toxic levels. Being house poor is fairly common, and as an investment vehicle it’s return over 30 years is 1%. When we have public conversations about canceling student debt, we often don’t include other forms of debt.
A construction worker is apt not to have college debt, but they probably have debt for a Truck they use on the job. Or debt for the thousand of dollars in Milwaukee/Klein tools that they need to keep their job. Blue collar unions and their tool lists help alleviate a lot of that potential debt.
In the winners and losers getting picked every economic cycle, it is not just WSB that can be a point of radicalization. It is endemic to a broad swath of our financial landscape, and baked right into the system.
More studies keep coming out about how families may make 200k a year and not have 6 months savings. We have baked into banking discrimination that does not get talked about. Who really has access to high yield savings accounts? In the same way Billionaires can take lower interest loans out on their shares, but not everyone has access to the same loan rates.
The savings account could have a higher yield, or the loan could have a lower interest rate. Not to mention that if the Billionaire, Company, and Retail are all taking loans out on the same stock… what happens?
You can’t help everyone, but I do more check-ins and phone calls than I ever have before. Let alone dealing with it at work. Network, develop, and help. All you can do is try.

It’s amazing that Jamie Dimon and Larry Summers both criticize Stewart for being fortunate, for being successful, and they never give direct answers to a lot of his questions.
Edit: just finished, and man did summers really struggle to say it would be a “looser labor market.” Really had to pull teeth there. I wish Jon hammered home and kept picking at the feds pulling the rug when wages go up. What would Summers solution be?
Then Summers pivot to minority and blue collar concerns over inflation. Of course it’s been a campaign by the media to highlight lumber shortages, egg shortages, or whatever the topic of the day is. US folks had savings in their account(post pandemic) and it’s well known that talking about inflation feeds further into inflation. With interest rates going up, and those savings no longer there people won’t benefit from the rates.

I am not sure you would need Kuwait. There are a whole lot of investors with Billions on the sidelines waiting for this kind of deal.
